by K.J. Sutton
After being pulled from the Hudson River, twenty-year-old Cass Ryan discovers that her near-death experience left her with a haunting, unwanted gift: she can see the dead. What she initially dismissed as trauma-induced hallucinations are actually glimpses into the veil between worlds. To master these terrifying abilities, she is whisked away to the Else & Bellows Institute, an elite academy shrouded in dark secrets and spectral whispers.
This atmospheric paranormal thriller blends a chilling ghost-filled mystery with the tension of an exclusive academic setting. As Cass navigates a curriculum of the supernatural, she finds herself drawn to an unsolved murder that the rest of the campus seems desperate to bury. With the ghost of a murdered girl as her only guide, Cass must uncover the truth before she becomes the next victim of the school’s hidden history.
Perfect for fans of Ninth House and Stranger Things, this gripping series starter delivers a moody, high-stakes ride. Packed with suspense, eerie encounters, and a slow-burn romance that simmers beneath the surface, it is an addictive page-turner. If you crave a dark, immersive academy story where the living and the dead collide, prepare to be haunted by this unforgettable journey.

I wrote a really long review but amazon wouldn't post it. Rude. This books is so, so good. Honestly, probably KJ Sutton's best yet, writing wise. I'm a huge fan of Cass's journey, development, and strength. Here is a portion of my goodreads review: I like to pick a quote to begin my 5-star reviews, but I decided against it here. \"You need to read this\" is how I'll begin the official review. However.. First, I want to thank KJ Sutton and her team for allowing me to be part of her ARC team for...

I have yet to read a book by KJ Sutton that I haven’t loved, so I had high hopes for this one and it checked all of my boxes and then some. It’s easily one of my favorite reads this year. Kelsey really has a beautiful writing style that draws the reader in and it’s easy to forget your own reality in lieu of the world she created. This book made me laugh, cry, and gave me a few jump scares. The vibes, the quips, the suspense, the characters - I’m obsessed and I NEED the next book like I need...

First off, let me just say I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS BOOK. I have been a fan of KJ and her writing for a bit now, so I am so honored to have gotten the e-arc for this. I was ecstatic! This book is the best mashup of stranger things x hogwarts x ghostbusters. If you love any of those or all, this book is certainly for you. It focuses primarily on twins, Cass and Cal, with their journey. Their stories begin with tragedy, and you end up getting a lovely murder mystery mashup! KJ does a fantastic...

When I read the synopsis for Waysider by KJ Sutton, I knew I had to read it. Since I'm not really familiar with KJ Sutton's books, I went into Waysider with no expectations. I'm happy to report that this book is fantastic. Waysider is a young adult paranormal book that revolves around Cass, a female that has experienced much more tragedy than anyone should at her age. Due to her experiences, she finds she is able to see ghosts, and soon receives an invitation to a paranormal school. This book...
