Veiled: An Ada Palomino Novel

by Karina Halle

About this book

Ada Palomino grew up surrounded by horrors, but after her mother’s tragic passing, she is desperate for a normal life. As she prepares for her first year at a Portland design school, she hopes to leave her family’s dark, supernatural legacy behind. However, the boundary between her reality and the spirit world begins to shatter. Increasingly violent, vivid dreams of tortured souls and mysterious portals suggest that the ghosts of her past are not finished with her yet.

Enter Jay, a tall, brooding stranger who haunts Ada’s dreams as much as he disrupts her waking hours. Their connection is instant, intense, and impossible to ignore, forcing Ada into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. As they navigate a world hidden behind a thin veil, the lines between enemies and lovers blur.

This gripping urban fantasy delivers a high-stakes blend of heart-pounding horror and steamy romance. Fans of the genre will love the grumpy-sunshine dynamic that crackles between Ada and Jay, alongside a compelling second-chance romance that spans lifetimes. Set within the eerie halls of an academy, this standalone novel is a dark, atmospheric thrill ride perfect for readers craving a paranormal story that is as haunting as it is seductive.

Ada Palomino Gets Her Own Story...a little sexy, a little scary, and a whole lot of wow!

August 3, 2016

4-4.5 stars Rating: R/MA for dark, paranormal/demon themes and some steam First off, let me say that I'm a tough rater. Most books I read are rated at 3 stars, maybe 3.5 stars. I've rated very few books as 4 stars or above, because I believe the books have to be really amazing to get that rating. So a 4-4.5 star rating for Veiled means that I think this book is AMAZING! And I really, really like it! The Author, Karina Halle, is an amazing talent who writes across multiple genres seamlessly....

Ada is all grown up.

I loved that Ada got her own book and has her own story separate from Perry. I loved Veiled. It was super mysterious and creepy. It was sexy and I loved the slow burn and the build up. I know this is only the beginning for Ada but I felt it was a good beginning. It is a great lead in to Ghosted! I feel like there is so much more to be explored. I loved that we got glimpses of Perry and Dex. ❤️ Veiled is technically a standalone but I feel like you should read EIT before Veiled. Why? A) because...

Little Fifteen has grown up and coming into her own. Ada Palomino is unleashing her power!

I am a huge Karina Halle fan. I started with her Experiment In Terror series several years ago. I anxiously awaited for each new release. It was very hard to see this series end. The EIT series ended exactly the way it should have and left readers satisfied that Dex and Perry were going to have their happily ever after. It also left a character hanging in the background screaming for her own story. Little Fifteen, otherwise known as Ada Palomino, was coming into her own. It was clear she had...

Surrender to Ada and Jay. Trust me, their world is full of surprises!

This book! Wow. This book had everything. Paranormal, suspense, angst, romance, laugh out loud moments and skin crawling scary moments. See? seriously everything! Paranormal/urban fantasy type genre isn't my norm. I actually said that earlier this year with another author's book as well. But if you can write it and write it well, I will read it and hopefully others that haven't crept out of their norm will as well. First, I adore Halle's books. She can seriously write anything and write it...

3.5 stars

I'll be honest, nothing can compare to Dex & Perry. Their books were fantastic. Now, Ada's was pretty good. In some ways it lacked, because she was in fact so young (18). But she did grow up a bit throughout the book, (who wouldn't?) I enjoyed the story line, but for some reason, I just could not get on board with Jay, or their \"Jacob\" relationship. I felt she was kind of selfish in pushing him to increase his feelings towards her, even though it might make him revert make to Silas. And that...
