About this book

Scientist Maryse Robicheaux finally breathes a sigh of relief when her overbearing, manipulative mother-in-law, Helena, passes away. She expects a quiet life in the sleepy town of Mudbug, Louisiana, but Helena has other plans. Even from the beyond, the formidable matriarch refuses to relinquish control, transforming into a meddlesome ghost who continues to haunt Maryse’s every move.

The chaos intensifies when DEA Agent Luc LeJeune arrives undercover to investigate Maryse. As a dangerous threat emerges that puts her life in jeopardy, Luc finds himself torn between his professional mission and a scorching, undeniable attraction to the brainy scientist. Navigating the bayou’s secrets becomes a high-stakes game where the living and the dead collide in the most unexpected ways.

This paranormal romantic comedy is a delightful romp filled with Southern charm, sharp wit, and supernatural mischief. Fans of the enemies-to-lovers trope and quirky small-town mysteries will adore the hilarious banter between a woman trying to move on and the ghost who won't let her. If you are searching for a fast-paced read with plenty of twists, turns, and a dash of ghostly interference, look no further than this spirited start to the Ghost-in-Law series.

I get a lot of my ebooks for free from various promotional campaigns, and this is one of the many in my queue of books to read. I've read so many different types of stories, some standalone, some the first of a series. Typically I will read through, note that I either enjoyed the book or not—and then I move on. But this book is different, and it is the first time in reading one of these books where I've said at the end, \"I think I want to read the next one in this series, even if it costs me...

I have no idea why so many good books have such slow start, but once you get over those pages the rest makes is all worth. Starting with breath but very accurate description of the main character's cat and along with steamy love-making seen this cozy mystery is well-written, makes sense and has just enough humor. Also, you'd be wondering whoddoneit until the very end. I encourage you to read this book and congratulate the author with a job well done. )

Maryse thought the worst of her troubles were behind her when her mother-in-law died. It was at her funeral when she sees her mother-in-law spring to life out of the casket. Unfortunately for Maryse, she was the only one who could see this. Maryse had her attorney on speed dial as she hoped her estranged husband would make an appearance. She was desperate for a divorce after he had abandoned her two years ago. The low-life husband was a no-show at his own mother’s funeral. Maryse was a...

4 Stars This book was so much fun! I had hoped that this book would keep me entertained at the gym and it did that job so well I found myself listening to it not only at the gym but on my way to the gym and really anytime I was in the car. This book isn't anything serious and was a bit silly at times but it was exactly what I was looking for. Maryse attends her mother-in-law's funeral like any good person would do, even though she is estranged from her deadbeat husband, Hank. Maryse would love...
