by Nikki Wilbur

About this book

Dana has spent her life as the town pariah, cursed with the ability to see the restless dead. While she has learned to navigate the whispers of spirits, her reality shatters when the ghosts in her old Victorian home turn from mournful to malicious. Alongside her loyal friend Noah, Dana discovers a hidden cache of weapons and forbidden texts stashed behind a basement wall, revealing that her haunting is merely a gateway to a much darker, ancient conspiracy.

This gripping paranormal mystery masterfully blends historical intrigue with a chilling supernatural atmosphere. As Dana unearths long-buried family secrets and encounters a mysterious stranger claiming to know her deceased mother, she is thrust into a hidden world that defies every rule she thought she knew about life and death. The stakes rise with every page, forcing her to choose between desperate answers and devastating consequences.

Perfect for fans of atmospheric ghost stories and slow-burn historical tension, this tale is impossible to put down. Will Dana unravel the truth before she becomes just another cautionary tale, or will the shadows consume her first? Dive into a story that readers are calling an addictive, must-read series that keeps you guessing until the very end.

Great Read!

April 23, 2025

I read this book back in March, in one day! I rated it five stars, but my spacey author brain forgot to leave a review, so here it is: To start, let me just say...I’m not a fan of ghost stories, and yes, I was scared shitless. Especially with the old lady in the rocking chair. \"Shivers\" She’s exactly why I hate attics; they always give me the creeps. But I was hooked from the beginning, dying to know who her silent shadow man was. Was he going to be a love interest? So, I tightened my big...

DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS SERIES!

Don't pass this series up. I was hooked immediately and tore through both books over a weekend. Dana's life is in shambles. She sees ghosts and is viewed as the town pariah. She was used to the snickers and ghosts that followed her and beside her always, was Noah. After the passing of her mom, the ghost that Dana befriended as a child, Hank, that was always there, disappeared. Until one day, he's alive and in her kitchen. That was the day that would alter the course of Dana's life. Highly...

great plot, characters and world building

January 29, 2025

I devoured this book in four days. Currently it’s taking me weeks to finish a book, but this one was so easy to read. The story built as I went along. The story line is really well developed. The characters have great depth. But I really like the world building. There were a lot of surprises that made me want to keep reading. I don’t think I predicted anything and that’s unusual for me. I can’t wait to read the second book. )

I loved every single moment of reading it and love how devoted Noah is to Dana <3 I couldn't put it down at all and read it in just a few hours! The next day was brutal but I didn't regret it at all! I would have hated myself more if I put it down! Definitely one of my most favorite reads i highly recommend it to everyone who like fantasy romance with a snarky lead female and devoted mates!!! )
