Desire is a dangerous, shapeshifting force, but for Isani Carr, it is about to become a haunting reality. When she crosses paths with the enigmatic Alois Floquet, she is immediately pulled into an orbit of suffocating intensity. Alois is not merely a man with a crush; he is a spectral force driven by an all-consuming fixation that defies the boundaries of life and death. He is determined to fulfill Isani’s every need, regardless of whether she invites his presence or fights to escape his shadow.
This gripping paranormal romance masterfully weaves the chilling atmosphere of a ghost story with the high-stakes tension of a dark, possessive stalker narrative. Readers will find themselves caught in the same intoxicating web as Isani, balancing the terror of being hunted by an otherworldly entity with the undeniable, magnetic pull of his devotion. It is a chilling exploration of obsession that lingers long after the final page.
Beyond the supernatural thrills, the story is grounded by sharp, authentic character dynamics and genuine friendship. With a perfect blend of dark romance, supernatural mystery, and even a touch of feline charm, this is an essential read for those who crave a haunting, heart-pounding escape.

Ooo girl I had to read this book 3 times! I would be terrified of Alois but I’d love him too. )

Dark romances have a special place in my heart. My little heart just eats them up. Also, I love cats and this book had one so I fell in love. Lol. Dark romances and cats are the way to my heart. Who knew? Let’s get into that cover. Ethereal, menacing. Hauntingly beautiful. Which is the best phrase to describe this story. Alois and Isani (side note her, but these names for perfectly with both lead characters. Sometimes the names of the MCs make me irrationally irritated and I question why...

Loved the relationship between the friends. The writing truly captured the banter that frequently occurs between genuine friendships. That lactose intolerance joke have me ROTFL. Also, the pacing of the story between the 2 leads was so well done. The darkness of the relationship really creeps up on you. Well thought out plot. Well delivered plot. Will re-read. ) 3 people found this helpful

*****Spoilers***** For sure an A+ for originality and even higher for the creepiness. Alois is the new French teacher at the school where Isani teaches. She's a professor of ecology I think, with strong beliefs about the environment and conservation. The book starts with Isani in a meeting with the town mayor about sustainability efforts, a meeting during which Isani is sure to tell the mayor what he won't be getting from her in exchange for him granting her favors. We meet Nito and Denise, her...

Alois is a killer you can be sympathetic towards. And that is the crux of the problem. Not that he is the Wraith but that he kills so easily. Part of me wants him to be loved. The other part of me wants him to stop killing. So I feel for the heroine. Because she knows he is psycho. ) 2 people found this helpful
