THE WHISPERING HOUSE Witches of Hollowmere, Book 1
She inherited a house. He came with it. And neither expected to fall.
Seraphina Locke has built her life on logic and solitude. As a book restorer in Boston, she finds comfort in mending broken spines and torn pages—bringing order to the chaos of time. Emotions are messy. The past is unpredictable. She prefers it that way.
Then a letter arrives that shatters everything.
She's inherited Hollowmere House—a crumbling Gothic manor perched on the cliffs of Port Blossom, Massachusetts—from a great-aunt whose existence was deliberately hidden from her. The inheritance comes with an ancient iron key, cryptic warnings, and secrets that reach back generations.
The house is not empty.
Nathaniel shouldn't exist. Bound to Hollowmere by ancient magic for over a century, he's trapped between life and death—corporeal, tangible, and entirely too real for a ghost. He's angry. Lonely. And not at all pleased that another Locke has returned to disturb his solitary existence.
As Sera uncovers dusty grimoires and discovers the truth about her bloodline—that she comes from a long line of powerful witches—the connection between her and Nathaniel shifts from antagonism to something far more dangerous.
The house remembers everything.
Every spell cast within its walls. Every sacrifice made. Every love that bloomed and withered in its shadows. Hollowmere is alive, and it's been waiting for Sera—the blood heir who might finally have the power to break the binding that keeps Nathaniel trapped.
But freedom comes at a devastating price.
The magic anchoring Nathaniel to the house is woven into its very foundation. Breaking the curse could destroy everything Sera has come to love—including the man she never expected to fall for.
As winter storms batter the coast and old magic stirs in the darkness, Sera must make an impossible choice: let Nathaniel remain bound to an eternal half-life, or risk a spell that could destroy them both.
A Gothic paranormal romance about: ✨ Star-crossed love that transcends death 🏚️ A house that's alive with secrets 🔮 Witch magic with real consequences 📚 A book restorer discovering her power 👻 A century-old ghost who's more than he seems 💔 Impossible choices and devastating hope

This book was so great. Every page read just made you want to read another. The story was so full of love and adventure. Stepping back in time and bringing that to the present was awesome. Can't wait for the next book. I would give more than 5 stars if I could. )

I am loving the storyline and I was sucked in immediately, but as I get further in the book, it gets a little confusing because it’s almost like we’re reading the author‘s rough draft versions. We are being given the same information several times, but in different perspectives and different delivery styles. Somewhere deep into the book about a third to halfway mark, they reveal who the Malevolent spirit is for example, talking about it as if we didn’t know who it was from the start. But in the...
