Zoe Thorne has a unique talent that most would find terrifying: she talks to the dead. As a key member of the paranormal investigation crew for The Wraith Files, she spends her days dodging mischievous spirits and managing the chaotic antics of her coworkers. While she has developed a lingering, undeniable spark with her boss, the brooding and intense Malachi Flemming, their slow-burn tension takes a backseat when Zoe returns home to solve a cold case.
Her mission is personal. She is determined to find the murderer of her resident ghost, a sassy exotic dancer named Teri who has been stuck in limbo for thirty years. But as Zoe digs into the past, she inadvertently draws the attention of two sinister, faceless entities. These malevolent forces are closing in, turning her investigation into a desperate fight for survival.
This gripping installment in the paranormal romance series masterfully blends chilling ghost encounters with a spicy enemies-to-lovers dynamic. As the danger escalates, Zoe must push her psychic abilities to the limit. If you love second-chance romance, witty banter, and high-stakes supernatural mystery, prepare to be hooked. Zoe is running out of time, and if she isn’t careful, she might just become the next ghost on her own list.

Another great book by C.C. Wood. ''The Wraith Files'' is becoming my favourite series. The Dead Come calling(They came calling alright) is the second book in the series. The Dead come calling was an awesome read. I loved it so much I read it again. It was creepy, funny, and oh boi the suspense. I thought I had some parts figured out, only to be hit with somethig els. But it was fun seeing the gang back together. And, Teri! She had me LOLing. ''Joblow'' That had me cracking up. I can not wait...

This is the second book in the series. The series MUST be read in order as these are NOT standalone. TDCC starts a couple of months after the first book ended. Zoe is now a full-fledged member of Mal's team, the chemistry between Mal and Zoe heats up, and the team is on the hunt for supernatural being they know nothing about. The tone of TDCC is more serious than the first is however there is still some humor to lighten the drama. I love the engagement between Zoe and her mom and the something...

This was a ton of fun. What a fabulous cast of characters. I wouldn't mind having a resident ghost if she were like Teri. But with my luck, I'd probably end up with one like the bad entity. I was biting my nails over whether Mal was going to be the one possessed. It made me anxious because I really like this couple together. Now I'm going to have to read the rest of this series. I didn't read the first book before this, but I had no trouble understanding the story. Five stars. )

The characters and their interactions keep me reading, along with the story line. Great premise fir an escape to the “other worldly” while keeping me interested in the human relationships. I still want Teri to be my ghost! What a hoot! )

Zoe’s been on the road with the Wraith Files team, but now she’s back home, she wants to investigate the death of her resident ghost. Teri’s death is its own horror story, but it’s not long before Zoe and Mal are dealing with something quite malevolent, and it’s got Zoe in its sight! Zoe learns a bit more about her abilities, and some more about Teri in this book. Her romance with Mal progresses a bit (slow burn), and we meet some new and interesting characters. It’s an enjoyable, and creepy...
