Reader Reviews

another GREAT read by Ms. MacLean

January 21, 2025

THE COLOR OF JOY is a standalone read with a happy ending. There are no sexy scenes or colorful language so any age can read and enjoy. This is part of a series, and if this is your first read you will not be lost. It is different from previous books I have read (all in the series) except the lessons are still there. It is not a preachy story at all, just everyday life situations and solutions. I especially love the venture into the unknown of the other side. I have experienced a lot of the...

Worth reading!

The book was fairly short compared to what I usually read. I loved that there were very little nonsense fillers that tend to drag out a story. I also loved the author defining the distinction between a brain illness and mental health illness. This is an important for all of us to understand. It is refreshing to read a book that centers on life transformations, forgiveness, positive relationships and faithfulness. I found several of the chapter transitions to be a bit choppy; however, after a...

Entire series is consistently inspiring. Favorite author, favorite series. Great character development. Well-edited.

This review is for the Series -- consistently enjoyable reads: Absolutely inspiring -- every book in the series! -- well-developed characters, and wonderful story lines -- all stand-alone novels (though most are more meaningful if read in order) -- and very different kind of read. Earlier, I had read 3 of these books, out of sequence, and loved each one so much that I decided to start with the first and read them in order. While definitely stand-alone reads, there is some cross-over in some of...

Kept Me Guessing

I loved reading this book, it was a quick and easy read that kept me turning pages. I love the ending and talk of faith )

Unique, and uniquely excellent

March 21, 2025

This book is unusual in the way it was told, chapters from one viewpoint and then others from a second viewpoint. There is mystery here, which I totally \"figured out\" wrong, but it was gripping in a way totally different from horror. There are supernatural elements that some might find weird or off-putting, but which I found believable. I will look for more of this fine author's books. )
