She knew her plans for her foreseeable future would have to change but any sense of a plan was out of her control. She finds herself learning to trust and hope once again with the help of a special animal who also needs a fresh start. Along with a group of characters who’s shared grief bonds them together for not only a lifetime but an eternity.

It won’t be until Deidre releases control fully that her future happiness can be realized. However, releasing control will also mean accepting the unimaginable. Only then can a new plan for Deirdre’s future begin to form.

I loved this book! Mystery, Romance, & Martha's Vineyard!

As a long-term resident of Martha's Vineyard and a lover of fiction, I was especially excited to read this book and it did not disappoint! Great Cape and Islands read!!

I loved this book! The characters were fantastic and I loved how the main character changed throughout the book after the unexpected loss of her aunt which took her on a different path in life. There was some great historical information sprinkled in and I loved the bit of fantasy which adds nicely to the story! So well written, can’t believe it’s her first novel. Can’t wait for what’s next!! )

I loved The Bluff House - it's a great beach, back yard or travel read. I loved the character development and the story line; a bit fiction, a bit reality, a bit fantasy all rolled into one. The author took me on a trip through the cape and islands and to Boston and back, to that she added a bit of mystery and time travel to the mix. It's a great read and I look forward to more books from D. Lane in the future. ) One person found this helpful

I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Bluff House! The characters are diverse and as I got to know them, I found myself invested in each of their lives. I was listening to the radio in my car and the song \"Wildfire\" came on. I instantly thought of Deidre, even though that song is not mentioned in the book! (Once you read it, you'll see why).
