60 Seconds Between Worlds: A Love Story Beyond Death (60 Seconds Forever Book 2)

Sadie Strange is not your average substitute teacher. Armed with a Master’s degree in comic book superheroes and a burning need to solve her aunt’s mysterious death, she arrives at the isolated Strange Academy. But the school is far more than an educational institution; it is a sanctuary for children with paranormal gifts, and its secret existence is the only thing standing between humanity and total war.
Standing in her way is Lorde Gray, the academy’s brooding chemistry teacher and a secret demon hunter. With his alpha-hero intensity and a vow to keep mortals away from the school’s volatile truth, Gray is determined to get Sadie fired. He views her as a reckless intrusion, while Sadie finds his haughty, Roman-nosed arrogance infuriating. Yet, as they are forced into an uneasy alliance, the animosity between them begins to crack, revealing a simmering, forbidden attraction that threatens to consume them both.
Blending laugh-out-loud humor with high-stakes suspense, this paranormal romance is a must-read for fans of quirky heroines and volatile chemistry. If you crave a story that balances dangerous secrets with an irresistible enemies-to-lovers arc, step inside Strange Academy. It is time to discover that when love gets strange, it gets truly unforgettable.

First of all, this book is funny. Riotously funny at times. This all comes from the chemistry between Sadie and Lorde Gray (yes, that is his name). Volatile chemistry. Dangerous at times. Gray hates Sadie becomes she's NOT different. Sadie hates Gray because he hates her. The wicked bantering between them just makes for an amazing read. So, since they hate each other so much, of course they fall in love. And because Gray is a jerk (at least superficially) he spends half the book convincing...

This book was a full of suspense and romance with some comic relief thrown in for good measure. I found this story difficult to put down wanting to know what happens next, I look forward to reading about the staff and students of Strange Academy in the future. )
