Eldrith Manor

Second Edition
Promise, Michigan is very much like every other small town across the state. Built on the edge of a lake, the homes sit in neat little rows in cute little neighborhoods. During the summer Promise bustles with tourists who come to spend their vacation dollars and enjoy the lake's refreshingly cold water. But Promise holds a terrible secret. In the center of the lake is an abandoned island where a curse is rumored to wait for victims, unabated and deadly. Most think it's just a story, something used to keep kids out of trouble. Still, everyone gives it a wide berth. Everyone except Bret and Adam. They dare to venture out the night of Bret's birthday. When they declared their love and promise to get married, they believe no one else heard their whispered words - but they are wrong.
Five years later Adam dies, and Bret returns to his family to heal. But someone is killing the people of Promise in random acts of violence. Bret, with the help of FBI agent Jeff McAllister, must discover the identity of a murderer with death on his mind and revenge in his heart.

***** Stars! Anyone out there who reads my reviews know that I LOVE books that make me \"feel\". F.E. Feeley has the wonderful talent to write books that always make me feel :) This is the story of the aftermath and consequences of the death of state-champion swimmer Adam and what happens to those left behind, not the least is his boyfriend/fiance Bret. The writing is great and keeps you pulled into the story and turning pages. I didn't finish until 3am, but couldn't put it down. The...

Spookiest one yet, but so much more than that. With each book, the writing gets better and better. There were so many different elements in this one than the previous two, but it absolutely worked so well. I hate to give spoilers away in my reviews, but I just have to say that the Native American element to this one was very cool to read. It was well written and respectful IMO, but adding in the legend and the blessing/curse aspect of the island makes it even more scary, but totally in a good...

Well written and edited. Really nice prose, atmospheric, solid world building, characters with depth. Great secondary characters. A good ghost story for those who like this subgenre. ) One person found this helpful

The story revolves around Bret, a soon-to-be college graduate returning to his Pleasantville-esqe town of Promise, Michigan for the fifth anniversary of the death of his fiancé, Adam, after they had gotten engaged on Promise Island in the center of the lake on which the town is built. Every year Bret has come, still unable to relate to men since Adam died. But this year is different. This was the year they promised to marry. With Bret's arrival, some mysterious deaths begin to occur. One by one...

\"Still Waters\" is a masterfully written paranormal thriller. The combined lives of Adam and Bret took me in from the very first page and didn't let me go. What is it that make a secret promise turn into such a breathtaking novel? F. E. Feeley jr. shows you. He tangles the webs of connection between two truly loving and caring main characters artfully into the fulfillment of a curse so terrible, I caught myself holding my breath more than once during the read. Adam and Bret are deeper...
