To change his fate, Kyros Vindex made a deal with witches: Eric’s heart for anything in the world. But the cost of love was too high. His quartermaster and best friend Araceli Cross is trapped with the spirit Ghalil. Driven by his guilt, Kyros becomes obsessed with the impossible. To get Araceli back, he’ll have to renege on the witches’ blood pact.
Finally free of the demon that possessed him for seven years, Eric Deumont is ready to chase the horizon. Try as he might, he can’t convince his lover Kyros to move on. And Kyros expects him to return to the plantation, and the man, where it all started; as if there was a chance Philippe could pull Araceli out of the jar. But Eric won’t risk unleashing Ghalil, not for anyone. It’s time to cut and run.
Araceli fights Ghalil with everything she has but when the demon merges their souls, they break the seal of their cage. However, physical freedom doesn’t change the fight for dominance. Ghalil’s demand for blood shackles her, and Araceli is nobody’s slave.
With Ghalil free, time is a luxury that no one has. And all the while, the witch crows watch...

This is a great story to read, plenty of action and drama. Great characters you will bond with, and enough mystery and unanswered questions to keep you reading as fast as you can. I truly love the bonds of loyalty and friendship expressed in this series. Looking forward to the next book. )

The ending made no since but I am sure another book will come shortly. Book was written to fast and no thought in the plot of characters. )

The race is on for Araceli but Ghalil is stronger than they thought. Kyros and Eric's relationship takes a nosedive and tension is running high between everyone. Story continues in the next book since the ending hinted at it especially with the new spirit jar that Araceli found on her new ship...I hope the next book is longer with more details in the storyline. \"I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.\" ) One person found this helpful

Ruin and Will is the second book in the An Act Of Piracy series by Tami Veldura. The book was well written and nicely edited. You do need to read the first book Blood in the Water in order to appreciate and understand what happens in the second book. And wow, so much happened in this book. So many twists and turns. Some of the questions that I had at the end of the first book were answered, but now I am left with even more questions and a cliffhanger ending that immediately made me want to read...
Love this series and the characters very entertaining. Can't wait for the next book its turning into an interesting saga with spirits and love and adventure combined! )
