Revenant: A Spirit Realm Novel, Book 2

by Stacey Brutger

About this book

Locked away in a high-security asylum, Rue finds herself trapped in a nightmare far worse than the spirits she usually hunts. Her father has finally caught up to her, and a sadistic scientist is waiting in the shadows to dissect her unique gifts. Just as she begins to lose hope, the men she risked everything for arrive to break her out. But what was meant to be a daring rescue quickly turns into a lethal trap, forcing the group into an agonizing state of forced proximity where survival depends on overcoming the resentment and distrust threatening to tear them apart.

This dark romance pushes the boundaries of the paranormal genre, blending supernatural terror with the intense, tangled dynamics of a found-family unit pushed to their breaking point. As Rue and her crew—Hicks, Gunner, Ellis, and the twins, Jameson and Jaceson—face their most harrowing challenge yet, the line between saving each other and destroying one another blurs.

If you are craving a gritty, high-stakes ghost story that doesn't shy away from mature themes, this heart-pounding conclusion to the Spirit Realm duet is your next must-read. Prepare for a gripping adventure where the ghosts of the past are nothing compared to the demons lurking in the living.

I couldn’t wait to read the 2nd book in the duet, which did not disappoint! Both books were engaging and it was bittersweet to find myself at the end. Really enjoyed the journey. )

Disconnect

If this was a stand alone story where you didn’t need another book to know the characters and how they met I would give it 4 ⭐️ but even though where the story goes is possible it feels like a big jump in a completely opposite direction from the first book and feels like an almost entirely different world. If this was the third book in the series and there was a book to bridge the gaps and introduce elements that would have made this more believable I could have gotten behind that, but there...
