Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the bayou…
Jadyn St. James is excited to start her job as game warden in Mudbug, Louisiana, and hopes it is the beginning of a new and improved life. She expected to run across any number of odd occurrences in the small bayou town, but she never thought her life would be in danger within a matter of days. And that’s not even the worst thing. Helena Henry was hell on wheels - both alive and dead - when she resided in Mudbug, and a year in heaven hasn’t improved her one bit. Now, she’s back and has brought trouble with her.
When it becomes apparent that a major crime is occurring in Mudbug, Colt Bertrand is more than frustrated to be saddled with an inexperienced game warden, especially one who looks like Jadyn. But it soon becomes apparent that they need to put their differences aside if they expect to solve the crime, and more importantly, stay alive.

Jadyn is the new game warden in Mudbug and Maryse’s cousin. Her first day on the job and things go to hell! A sinking shrimp boat and bags of money start her day. Colt, the sheriff, doesn’t quite know what to think of the new game warden. But, he soon finds out that she is dedicated and tough. Into the mix comes Helena after getting kicked out of heaven. 🤷🏻♀️😂. A wild, scary, interesting and entertaining story! Excellent story and series. Love Jana DeLeon’s writing and humor! )

4 Stars I laughed so hard in places. This is a light hearted book. Some old characters are back and a few new ones. I like the characters, the laughter, the strong women. The main Character that is back is Helena Henry. She has been in Heaven for a year and now she is back causing mayhem. Helen was not a nice person when she was alive. She still has a lot of issues. Their is a couple of scenes with Helen running around scared for her life or scaring others that just made me laugh out loud. The...

What can I say other than, I LOVED it! This book, which is the fifth book in the Ghost-In-Law series, is just as much fun as the previous four! We meet a few new characters, who are always charming, and we get to visit our old favorites. It's always nice when you get to visit beloved characters from the past. Then there's Helena who always comes blasting in like an out of control wrecking ball and leaves me rolling on the floor with her antics. The ever growing relationship between Jayden and...

The addition of Jadyn St. James as game warden, ushers in a new cycle in the Ghost-in-Law series. Because Jadyn has jurisdiction over anything in the game preserve, and because she is a beautiful woman in the hidden world of the bayou, there is a lot of great conflict and contrast in this book. I love that Deleon does not shy away from the darkness that can be the bayou, a place where very few venture, and it adds a bit of a suspense/thriller feel to this cozy. The murder is especially grizzly,...

This series is such a fun, easy, quick read - once you start, you can't put the book down! Helena's antics (and outfits) are always lively, funny and very unexpected. When I first read the title, I wondered how they would bring Helena back - which of course they did, and it was done in typical Helena style. She makes these stories so entertaining and unforgettable. I just referred this series to a friend and she said she laughed all the way thru book #1 ( just as I did) and she quickly ordered...
