Pride and Poltergeists (The Grumpy Ghost Book 6)

by Maggie March

About this book

Richard Lockwood, a stern Victorian detective turned grumpy ghost, prefers his haunted mansion quiet and undisturbed. That is until Anna McGuffin, a spirited woman with a knack for trouble, turns his afterlife upside down. Their forced-proximity arrangement has blossomed into a forbidden romance that defies the laws of nature, leaving them caught between lingering looks and the painful reality that he is dead while she is very much alive.

When the restless spirit of Professor Ridley arrives at the manor with a desperate plea, the duo must set aside their own emotional turmoil. To ensure justice for the woman Ridley lost decades ago, Anna and Richard embark on a high-stakes scavenger hunt for a hidden will. As they navigate this cozy mystery, they find themselves in the crosshairs of a greedy nephew who is willing to commit murder to keep the family fortune.

This urban fantasy installment masterfully blends a second-chance love story with chilling suspense. Watching the professor wrestle with his past regrets, Anna realizes she refuses to let her own impossible love story end in silence. For readers who crave sharp banter, palpable chemistry, and the thrill of a paranormal romance that refuses to settle for the status quo, this series is an unmissable treat.

While engaging in yet another debate, Anna and Richard are surprised when the air begins to shimmer. A form takes shape and is none other than Professor Ridley. The professor was the tenant at the manor for 20 years before he died. These books are great! I love the way Maggie describes the characters and the story line is wonderful. Anna and Richard work together to help the professor ensure that his will is found and his wishes are honored. The attraction and tensions between Anna and Richard...

Definitely Read This One!

I loved this book! I will say if you haven't read the entire series, please do so. However, as with all the books in the series, each one can stand alone and be thoroughly enjoyed. It is one of those books you don't want to stop reading, yet you don't want it to end! There is one section where I actually think my heart started racing a bit, but I will say no more. It is such a very enjoyable read. )

This is a great addition to the series. After six books, I feel very attached to the main characters and look forward to the next book. The paranormal activity is mild but entertaining. )

A Worthwhile Read

This is a fast moving who-dun-it, with plenty of smart, witty repartee and a slow moving romance in the background. Easily read in a day or two, it keeps your attention and makes it difficult to walk away to get anything else done. I found myself continually going back to read just one more chapter. )
