Oakwood Manor (Love Beyond Death Book 1)

by Elizabeth N. Harris

About this book

Sabine’s life is in shambles, marked by betrayal and broken trust, so inheriting the dilapidated Oakwood Manor feels like a sanctuary rather than a burden. She seeks only a quiet place to heal, but she quickly discovers she is not alone. Lord Daniel Harrington, a nobleman mysteriously murdered in 1715, has spent centuries haunting his estate and scaring away anyone who dares to claim it. He is arrogant, protective, and entirely unwilling to share his home with a living soul.

What begins as a supernatural turf war soon shifts into a magnetic, high-stakes enemies-to-lovers romance. Sabine’s refusal to be intimidated by the spectral lord forces them into an uneasy proximity that challenges everything they know about the boundaries between life and death. As they clash over the manor’s secrets, their animosity begins to thaw, revealing a connection that defies the laws of time.

However, they are not the only ones with a claim to the estate. Dark forces lurk in the shadows, determined to keep the truth about Daniel’s death buried forever. To survive, this unlikely duo must abandon their feud and unite against a common threat. Perfect for fans of ghostly mysteries and slow-burn passion, this story proves that love is a force that even death cannot contain.

It’s been a while since I’ve read a romance book and I’m so glad I decided to try this one! There’s a little mystery, lots of supernatural, and a great romance. This was a fun book, not too heavy, and I really enjoyed the characters. It looks like I’m off to find the second book! ) One person found this helpful

A little cheesy

The first half was SO good! Then about 2/3 of the way through it got a little cheesy and maybe too much uninteresting detail. The mystery was solved and somehow it just kept going. I’ll read the next in the series, but wish all that detail about the village wasn’t in there. )

Holy Ghost hotness!

I’m absolutely in love with this book, I hope the rest in the series are just as good! From ghosts, to mystery, to history! All the things I enjoy rolled into one amazing book. I enjoyed the laughter of the pranks, the tears of sadness, and the heart warming love. Not to mention the mystery surrounding the Lord himself! Bringing a historical tale to new light can be somewhat of a hassle but this book did it and kept me intrigued all throughout the book. I read late into the night and today I’m...
