I came here to escape. To outrun the grief that clings to me like a second skin. But Veil Manor is alive. With secrets. with shadows, and with him. He comes at night, with eyes like crystals. I should be afraid of the cold spots, the rumors. The skeletal hands that reach for me throughout the manor. But I’m not. I’m afraid of how happy I feel when he’s nearby. Even if he’s not alive. I'm afraid of what I’d give just to stay in his arms a little longer.

LIAM I’ve been dead longer than she’s been alive. And yet she walks into this manor like she was meant for it, meant for me. With her green eyes and sharp tongue, she makes this cursed place feel like it could breathe again. She's fire and light. I should push her away. Instead, I want her to stay. She sees me. touches me like I'm real, even if staying means I'll have to fight the monster in the shadows. Because I've already failed so many. I've watched countless souls fall to this house. I won't lose her, too.

And their souls… keep me fed. Every death here has been mine. Secluded fires, broken necks, drowned lungs. Accidents, they call them. But I carve their endings. And now she walks my halls... warm, alive, bright. Her soul hums like starlight. And I will have it piece by piece. Until there is nothing left but her silence. Maybe then I’ll finally be free.
