Mania (Fever Dreams Collection, Book 1)

by Naomi Loud

About this book

I have starved for as long as I have been sentient, consuming soul after soul to feed a hollow existence. But when he arrived at the Ambrose Hotel, the hunger shifted into something far more dangerous. It morphed into an all-consuming obsession that demanded total control. I trapped him, keeping him close in a ghostly embrace that felt like bliss, until the day she arrived. She is a woman burdened by mortal toil, a soul so vibrant that I knew she was the final piece of our twisted puzzle.

This dark paranormal romance invites you into a world where the boundary between love and possession is permanently blurred. Within the walls of the Ambrose, the line between captor and captive vanishes, leading to an unconventional happily-ever-after that defies traditional expectations. It is a haunting, atmospheric tale that leans into the tropes of ghosts, forced proximity, and a possessive, otherworldly romance that will leave you reeling.

If you are looking for a spooky season read that balances eerie, gothic chills with intense, spicy obsession, this novella is your next addiction. It is a fever dream of a story that lingers long after the final page, proving that in this hotel, no one ever truly leaves.

This book made me manic in the best way!

Naomi really hit the spooky season spot with this novella. She writes such addictively haunting stories that hook you so fast. Just when I felt like I had an idea about what was going on, Naomi sent me circling again with a twist—Fever Dream Series is such a fitting title. I don’t know how she fit so much into such a short book. It’s the perfect spooky season palette cleanser that will answer your questions but leave you with so many more. Maeve meets Hazel while she's looking for work at The...

3.5⭐️- Good but Needed More Info to be Great

September 8, 2025

The story itself was interesting enough. It’s great for spooky season with haunted hotel, ghosts, a masked man and spice. I did enjoy this. There was nothing wrong with the story, but I just wish there was more. This was a paranormal love story with a sentient hotel. It delivered what it said it was. It was good, but I think with more meat to the plot, it could have been great. Why 3.5⭐️ then? I would have love some more meat to this. We met a few ghosts. What were their stories? What’s the...

3.25/5 stars

Genuinely and equally confused and intrigued by this. It was good but also yet completely…..what the heck did I just read sort of thing? I knew where we were going with the story from the beginning (call it the auDHD I can spot an ending a mile away) however, a lot of the lead up left me with more questions than not. I won’t ask them here because maybe I just didn’t understand them and they are spoilers but I do think the general premise was intriguing albeit muddled. I would absolutely give...

AHS vibes

🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 A few spice scenes with some description. Chapters down below. Peep the trigger warnings before reading. Multiple POV Haunted Hotel Paranormal Dark Romance Masked Stranger Obsessive MMC Losing sense of reality Giving American Horror Story vibes. 👻 Fast paced, short read, mysterious, and thrilling. Written perfectly. Enough to keep you questioning but satiated. Definitely had more questions at the end, but I like the lingering of the unknown. Like we don’t have to know the whole...

AHS Vibes Heck Yes!

October 26, 2025

Fever dream mania for sure. Fabulous novella. I wish the story was longer! Being trapped in a hotel with ghosts and no way out is a perfect story for spooky season. Very reminiscent of AHS Hotel. So if that’s your vibe, you’ll love Mania. Raven Wildwood and Scott Rose did a great job as Maeve and Hazel. They portrayed the characters perfectly as we the reader try to figure what’s real and what isn’t. The spicy scene in the hall was 😮‍💨😮‍💨 Check your TWs )
