by Janis McCurry
Luke Bennett is a man consumed by a singular, dark purpose: revenge. Arriving in Kentucky to dismantle the life of the man who ruined his family, he encounters Cori Tremaine, a spirited photojournalist struggling to balance her globetrotting career with the weight of her family’s legacy. Their initial meeting is anything but smooth, sparking a grumpy-sunshine dynamic fueled by simmering tension and an undeniable, magnetic pull.
But their story is not theirs alone. Haunted by a tragic 16th-century romance between a Gypsy maid and an English lord, Luke and Cori find their lives inextricably linked to the past. As spectral visitors intervene, the pair is thrust into a dual-timeline mystery where the echoes of an ancient curse threaten to destroy any chance at a future together.
This evocative paranormal romance masterfully weaves together two love stories separated by centuries. It is a slow-burn journey that challenges the limits of forgiveness and the endurance of the heart. If you are searching for a hauntingly beautiful tale where history and passion collide, look no further. Janis McCurry delivers an intricate, emotional narrative that proves some bonds are strong enough to transcend time itself.

I loved the way this book followed two couples, one from the 20th Century and one from the 16th Century. )

Loved this book as much as the others written by Janis McCurry. The storyline is intricate and compelling. Janis's writing style is endearing. She can't write/publish books fast enough for me. ) One person found this helpful

This book took me by surprise. Having already read a previous book by the same author (which I enjoyed immensely) I was not preprared for the time jumps. It took me a few pages to get used to it but then it made the story all the more fascinating. Definitely recommend it! )
