In the Dark Forest

In the Victorian era—the age of invention, the first electric lamps coexisted with candles, rubber tires shared space with wooden wheels, and society labeled women as hysterical for the most inane reasons or for harboring dark secrets. At a time when figures like Tesla, Marie Curie, Dom Pedro II, J.P. Morgan, Freud, Sherlock Holmes, Van Helsing, and many others—real and fictional—emerged, young Hector had a habit of “collecting” objects that didn’t belong to him.

One day, during one of his nefarious outings, he encounters the distinguished Lord Victor Valavant, who, instead of punishing him, asks for his help to face four monsters—and tell the tale.

Hector gradually adapts to the lord’s lavish lifestyle, but soon learns that the monsters within people can be more threatening than those lurking in the depths of the forest. Haunted by these contradictions, caught between monsters and charades, he must choose what to believe and decide his fate.

In the Dark Forest is a gothic horror story that blends mythology, psychological drama, and investigation in a dense and haunting atmosphere.
