Brooke thought she’d already survived the worst—losing her home, her sense of safety, and the quiet life she’d been trying to rebuild. But nothing prepares her for the moment she hears a man’s voice in her empty house… or the way her heart recognizes him long before her mind does.
Carter has been dead for decades, taken too soon in a life neither of them remembers—until now. A former mobster with a buried heart of gold, Carter has spent seventy years tethered to the woman he loved in another lifetime. When Brooke moves into a new home, the veil between their worlds thins just enough for him to reach her again.
As fragments of their past bleed into the present—wedding vows whispered under a 1940s sky, laughter on a sunlit beach, a love cut short by violence—Brooke begins to fall for the ghost who has never stopped loving her. But every moment together comes with a cost, and Carter is running out of time. Bringing him back might be possible… but saving him could break her all over again.
In a story woven with longing, fate, and the kind of love that refuses to die, In Another Life asks one haunting question:
How far would you go to reunite with the love your soul remembers?

I read two chapters, then life happened. After a few weeks, without distractions, I picked it up to read again. I finished the book in a few hours. My heart broke in the end, but I totally (kinda) understood the reason why their story ended. I really loved this fresh take on soulmates. So good! )

I have to say, Amanda Hale has a way with writing that I really enjoy. I have read, and reviewed, a few of her other books but this one is so unique that it’s probably a favorite of mine now, and I really liked Reckless Love. The story is heartbreaking and deeply touching, and worth every second spent reading it. Not all love has a HEA, and sometimes it takes lifetimes to find what we are missing. I’m giving it 5⭐️s not because it’s perfect, but because it’s perfectly imperfect, and now resides...

This is unlike any story I have ever read but is the second book I’ve read by this author. It’s perfect in all the right ways! A must read. )

Brooke was having dreams and de ja vu and thinking her home was haunted. Then she found out these were all things from a past life. Carter was her husband in another lifetime. Brooke and Carter experienced unimaginable things along with heartache and love as decisions had to be made for an unknown future. Interesting and intriguing read I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. )
