60 Seconds Between Worlds: A Love Story Beyond Death (60 Seconds Forever Book 2)

by Linda Thomas-Sundstrom
Seeking a retreat from her tragic past in Scotland, Anne Stewart arrives at the rugged, windswept shores of Cornwall to reside at the isolated Wyndham House. The estate is steeped in local legend, whispered by villagers to be a restless sanctuary for spirits of the past. However, the true disturbance arrives not in the form of a specter, but in the flesh—or so it seems—when the dashing Captain Gavin Christopher appears to claim his inheritance.
This atmospheric paranormal romance breathes new life into the traditional gothic genre. As Anne finds herself drawn to the enigmatic Captain, she must navigate a haunting mystery that blurs the boundary between the living and the dead. Is Gavin the man he claims to be, or is he a phantom tethered to the history of the house? Their connection serves as a classic second-chance romance, testing whether love can truly transcend the veil of mortality.
For readers who crave moody settings, Victorian-era tension, and the thrill of a supernatural mystery, this story offers a compelling journey. It explores the struggle for female agency in a restrictive age, asking if Anne will succumb to the shadows of Wyndham House or find an everlasting love that defies the grave.

This is the first book that I've ever read by this author and I loved it!! What an intriguing storyline. Lady Anne moves from Scotland to the rocky coast of England, after the tragic demise of her parents. She buys haunted Wyndam, once owned by a sea captain who is supposed dead. Lady Anne has disturbing dreams where she interacts with the Captain and watches as pirates beat him. Her Captain comes to her one night, stealing in thru her bedroom window. Is he a ghost, her imagination, what is...

The idea behind this story was very good. It was just as though the author could not get on with the story, repeating the same conversations over and over. It was not a good read. )

I was babysitting my grandchildren who were watching The Adventures of Tintin. I sat at the kitchen table in full view of this beautifully done movie and despaired. How was I going to read Linda T/S's, The House of Dark Shadows with strong competition from the TV. From word one, page one I started falling deeper into the story until, well, I wasn't a very good babysitter and I'll have to rent Tintin some other time. I'm an unabashed fan of Linda's. Love her. Although this is a departure from...

Another good story from a really good storyteller. This time a gothic historical with a paranormal twist, spooky house by the sea, and all. As far as I know, this might be Thomas-Sundstrom's first published historical, and it works. This is a true love story, well told. It's about soul and hearts. Hopefully this House of Dark Shadows won't be overshadowed by the movie and the old TV series. It's another tale altogether, and another example of how diverse this talented author really is. I look...

Fun, moody read with the right tone and all the right ingredients - dark house with dark passages on rugged Cornwall cliffs - scent of the sea - castle ruins - a love story that spans time and place. All this, and a great twist at the end. Loved it. ) One person found this helpful
