Hexed For The Holiday: A Magical Paranormal Romance (Starview)

by Courtney Corlew

About this book

Ophelia Turner is a sassy, purple-haired witch living a quiet life in her late mother’s magical shop, Hexed. Her world is turned upside down when a sudden, fierce snowstorm traps her inside with her childhood best friend, Sam Watts. For years, Ophelia has harbored a secret crush on the handsome, grounded man, unaware that he has been hiding his own deep-seated feelings for her during his three-month absence.

This cozy yet spirited paranormal romance perfectly blends festive holiday vibes with supernatural intrigue. As the storm rages outside, a magical mishap forces the pair into an intimate game of truth, stripping away the boundaries of their long-standing friendship. What begins as a night of forced-proximity and cozy nostalgia quickly evolves into something much steamier, proving that the most powerful magic in Starview isn't found in a spellbook, but in the heart.

If you are hunting for a quick, bingeable read that feels like a Hallmark movie after dark, this is your next obsession. It is a delightful mix of witchy charm and sizzling chemistry that keeps you turning pages until the very end. Perfect for fans of the friends-to-lovers trope, this novella is a must-add to your holiday shelf.

Ophelia and Sam 🤭❤️

December 13, 2025

I was lucky enough to be chosen as an arc reader for this novella, and I absolutely loved it!! Despite it being a novella, it did not feel like that at all! Recently, I have become such a huge fan of paranormal romances and this one is such an amazing and cute story! This is the story of Ophelia, a witch who has a cute shop in the small town of Starview and is best friends with June and Sam, June’s older brother. Ever since she can remember, they have always been the bestest of friends....

Hallmark after dark 🔥

May 24, 2026

The narrators, Daphne Winters and Lee Summers, were fantastic! Daphne was so animated and engaging. Lee had the perfect tone for Sam and his longing. Eeeek! Besties in love?! I ate this up! I loved hearing both POVs. This was a cute little novella that may be set in wintertime but has left me feeling warm and fuzzy. Their friendship although years long, escalated quickly for us readers. 🥵 Sam’s a green flag but his mouth was so filthy I was blushing! Freckles is also my new fav term of...

A steamy snowed-in romance with magic!

December 2, 2025

3.5 Thanks to the author for letting me read and review early! I had fun with this one! There's spicy scenes, friends-to-lover, and fun magic all wrapped up in the snowed-in (or, rather, hexed-in) situation for Ophelia and Sam. I liked the quick pacing of the story, naturally for a novella, though I did find myself wishing we got a little more depth about Ophelia and Sam's relationship beyond just knowing they've been best friends for almost their entire lives. I just found myself wanting to...

Cute & cozy yet spicy holiday novella

I enjoyed this book overall! I really want the shop to exist in real life, bookstore meets coffee shop meets witchy store? sign me up right now!! I enjoyed that this novella wasnt an instant love situation but established that the 2 have been friends for years! So many novellas do instant love or try to cram an entire story into a novella and this one instead established a history to the characters and even gave little bits of background here and there (like not sharing the extent of your magic...

Perfecting read for spooky szn

February 3, 2026

🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️/5 What a fun and silly little romantic read this was! Perfect for winter and spooky szn…and if you read it you’ll find out why. This story was short and while I would’ve loved more, naturally, it was done so perfectly for these two. Sam and Ophelia were so sweet and gentle with each other but seeing their friendship was fun and a little silly. And we immediately felt the love there, in more ways than one. I giggled at the “circumstance” they found themselves in. So this was...
