Guardian Spirits (Volume 3)

by Jordan L. Hawk

About this book

Vincent Night and Henry Strauss have spent months chasing the shadows of a dead mentor, searching for the truth behind James Dunne’s obsession with the Grand Harmonium. This legendary artifact, capable of shattering the veil between the living and the dead, remains just out of reach, leaving Vincent and his makeshift family of allies desperate for answers.

When a job offer leads them to the chilling, haunted orphanage where Dunne spent his childhood, they realize they have stumbled into a trap of history and sorrow. The restless spirits trapped within the crumbling walls are far more than mere echoes of the past; they are pieces of a puzzle that could unravel reality itself. As the line between the physical world and the afterlife blurs, Vincent and Henry must navigate a treacherous landscape of spectral threats to secure the Harmonium before it falls into malevolent hands.

Blending atmospheric ghost story elements with the warmth of a hard-won romance, this installment masterfully explores the stakes of love in the face of the supernatural. It is a gripping paranormal journey for readers who crave high-stakes mystery and the emotional resonance of a found family fighting against the forces of darkness.

After months of searching, Vincent and Lizzie are no closer to discovering what their mentor, James Dunne, was planning prior to his death. Will the love...

Well done!

June 21, 2018

It’s been awhile since I read the first two books in this series, so it took me a little to reacquaint myself with the characters. Once I did so, I enjoyed it. There are some similarities to Hawk’s Whyborne & Griffin series, so if you like that one, you’ll probably like this series and vice versa. This book particularly reminded me of some of the W & G books. Henry is my favorite character. He is both practical and endearingly innocent in ways. His responsibility towards Jo is very sweet....

Best Ghost Book!

5+1 stars I loved this book. I have to say that this series is a must read. What Ms Hawk does with words is amazing. I was literally glued to the chair until I finished. The way things were described it made so much sense like I was right there with the MCs in the story, it was so immersive. The descriptions were so vivid and in abundance. It was awesome. Apart from that I also enjoyed how transgender secondary characters were incorporated in the book. She was just wonderful with them. It was...

Epic and satisfying conclusion to this trilogy

July 2, 2020

The conclusion to this fascinating trilogy once again revolves around a haunted house. This time, both Henry and Vincent’s pasts have converged, and the race is on to find the secrets hidden by Vincent’s old mentor before they can fall into dangerous hands. This book takes the “spiritualism steampunk” elements of this series to an entirely new level in this book, and I was fascinated by everything our heroes encountered. As always, Jordan shows off his world building chops in the best ways,...

Brilliant historical paranormal romance

May 22, 2018

Oh my goodness...I really love Jordan L. Hawk's approach to historical paranormal queer romance. As in their Whyborne and Griffin novels, Hawk builds such vibrant characters in the Spirits series. I love these characters so much. Vincent and Henry (as well as Lizzie and Jo) are beautiful and complex. It's no secret that Hawk is one of my favorite authors (and this from a person who doesn't really love historical romances), but they do such an excellent job with world-building and weaving an...
