Gladly Beyond (Brothers Maledetti Book 1)

by Nichole Van

About this book

An ancient curse, fractured at the birth of three brothers.

Two strangers helplessly drawn to each other.

A love story two hundred years in the making.

Claire Raythorn arrives in Florence, Italy, shattered, alone, and anxious to rebuild her life—preferably one without men. But she soon finds herself hunted and haunted— literally—when a mysterious stalker dressed like Mr. Darcy from BBC central casting appears in her photos. And only her photos. Who is this man? And what does his ghostly presence mean?

Dante D’Angelo simply wants to safeguard his brothers, despite the family curse that hounds his vision. But then Claire Raythorn walks into his life, untouched somehow by his curse. Soon, everything Dante thought he knew about himself starts to unravel, dragging Claire down with him.

Set against the lush backdrop of Florence, Italy—both past and present—Claire and Dante fight for a future together. But, first, they must uncover their shared past . . .

Just glorious!

I read book two of the series first. It was called Love's Shadow. I so love the story. I got this book for free on Kindle. I can't remember how. Maybe, I got an email that this book was on sale or whatever. Long story short, I got this for nada. For those who don't know, I am a sucker for stories with history thrown into the mix. That's why I love the books of Clive Cussler, Steve Berry and Dan Brown. I love stories that weave connections between the long dead past and the present. How the...

Fun, clean and light-hearted read... just manage ypur expectations if you've read Van's other work

It is hard for me to resist Nichole Van after reading her House of Oak series. However, I was a little skeptical of this new series because it isn't my usual fare. I love historical/time travel fiction, especially when set in Regency Era England. Italy is great, but I prefer my Bristish stories. It mostly takes place in modern day with a few visits to the past through \"regressions.\" Since I also like some fantasy, I was OK with the paranormal talents of Dante and his brothers, but I was...

Another Terrific Book from Nichole Van

Nichole Van is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. She writes intelligent, well-crafted stories that keep you turning the pages until you’ve consumed every word of her work. This book takes place in Florence, Italy and the author’s vivid descriptions make you feel as though you are physically there. She writes about star-crossed lovers, an ancient curse and past lives and reincarnation in a way that imbues her story with suspense, intrigue, romance, witty repartee and plot twists that you...

Fantastic Story!

This book held me captive for far too long. I just couldn’t seem to put it down. The mystery and history interwoven throughout combined with a swoony-yet-clean romance grabbed my attention and I just had to know what would happen next. I loved the two main characters, Dante and Claire. Each chapter lets you know whether you’ll be reading the first person perspective of either character, and I loved seeing the story unfold this way. I also loved the rich history in both the city of Florence, as...

Another brilliant and beautiful read from Nichole Van!

First off, this review is by Samantha Kennicott, not Brad. I'm sure my husband would want me to clarify that he doesn't read romance novels, nor does he take the time to write gushing reviews about them. :) Now that that's out of the way.....What I loved most about this book is that so many of the twists and turns in the plot were so unexpected to me. I LOVE when a book can genuinely surprise me, and this one did just that. I devoured it in 2 days while on vacation and enjoyed every minute of...
