Ghoul as a Cucumber: Grimdale Graveyard Mysteries, Book 3

by Steffanie Holmes

About this book

Bree Mortimer has officially traded normal life for a haunted ménage à trois that defies every rule of the living. After embracing her status as a self-proclaimed ghostslut, she is firmly committed to her three possessive, alpha-hero specters. But while the chemistry between them is scorching, the stakes in Grimdale have never been higher. Between dodging the lethal Order of the Noble Death and hiding her burgeoning resurrection magic from prying eyes, Bree has her hands full.

This third installment of the Grimdale Graveyard Mysteries blends laugh-out-loud humor with dark, paranormal intrigue. Fans of steamy, supernatural romance will find plenty to love here as Bree battles the emotional distance that comes with falling for men who are technically deceased. The tension is palpable, not just from the serial killers being raised from the grave, but from the terrifying prospect of actually opening her heart to her ghostly lovers.

If you are craving a paranormal romance that balances kooky, spooky antics with high-stakes mystery, this series is your next obsession. Just be warned: this isn't a standalone story. To fully appreciate the unfolding magic and the intense, unhinged bond between Bree and her men, you will want to start from the beginning.

Spicy Fruits & Veggies FTW

I immediately ran to this book and was completely shocked over and over again. This author knows how to pack a punch when it comes to not only these characters but the events that involve them. The name of this book gave me some giggles and couldn't have been more on brand. There were times when I was surprised, confused, trying to figure out things along with everyone while also being jealous of her and these sexy men she is surrounded by! You can't help but wonder what it is like to be...

Solid Read

December 18, 2023

I definitely feel like I needed to do a reread before reading this book, because it has been a while since I’ve read this series and a refresher would have been nice. So I can’t say if it was a slow read because I was having to really push myself to recount former details, or if it was just a slow moving read in general for me. All I can say, was that this book did take a little bit to pick up for me. Did it eventually pick up? Yes, it got interesting enough for me to continue my read though I...

A Fantastic Read

As book three in the series, you should know up front that none of the books in this series read well as a standalone story. You won't fully understand what is going on and why, unless you read them all in order. That being said, this is a fantastic continuation of the story. The wow factor really picks up in this story. It's both thrilling and hilarious. It's an absolute MUST READ story for fans of Paranormal and Supernatural Romance, as well as Murder and Crime Mysteries, Magic and Fantasy...

Resurrection is dangerous

June 16, 2025

In the third book in this series, Bree discovers more of her Lazarus powers and even learns how to train to wield her magic. Aside from the goal to figure out how to get rid of the Ripper with finality, she is also dead set on figuring out Edward's unfinished business... while keeping Grimdale in the family posession. Not an easy task, either.. I love this series, love the ghosts, and love how Bree is finally accepting herself the way she is. While some puzzle pieces are falling into place,...

Twisty, emotional, and brutal!!

January 11, 2026

This was the most emotionally charged and suspenseful book in the series for me. The mystery was twisty, the tension stayed high, and the found-family dynamics really came through. I was fully invested by this point and absolutely flew through it—only to be left reeling by the ending.
