The dead don’t rest until their stories are told, and my story is far from over.
In a world where stories and spirits collide, I discover that my family's legacy is more than ink on paper. Born in a family of writers, my life took a dark twist when I dared to change the story’s ending.
Suddenly, the villain, once confined to the pages of fiction, emerges as a tangible threat, and he’s angry about the changes I made to his story. The spirit's ominous presence forces Gage to enter my life when he’s supposed to watch me from afar. We realize we’re part of a larger story as long-buried secrets about curses and the whispers of the dead claw their way to the surface.
Together, Gage and I must break the rules to uncover the truth. The dead hold the key to unraveling the mysteries, and they'll stop at nothing to see their tales told.
In a realm where the dead hold sway over the living, the only certainty is that we have everything to gain and everything to lose.
Evil Speaks Softly is a stand-alone Nightwalkers story. If you like forbidden love in a dark paranormal romance, then you’ll love Maureen Bonatch’s sinister story.
Buy Evil Speaks Softly to see if Liv and Gage can rewrite their fate before it’s too late.

This book is sure to give you chills for the romance and the paranormal activity. The heroine is an author who thinks her stories are creative fictional tales. When she finds out ghosts are whispering to her, it gets a little creepy. Her hero, Gage, has his own odd place in life because he can see these villains. They have a problem when they join to figure out how to change the norm. Norm? Nothing normal about this thriller! )

Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it can’t hurt you or the people you love. Liv’s relationship with her grandmother was one of my favorite parts of this tale. They shared so many of the same quirks that I would have immediately known they were related even if the main character hadn’t been so clear about it. What made this even better was that Liv would probably never admit to being so much like her grandma! The conversations between them in the beginning were thought provoking as...

If you've ever wondered where authors get their story ideas, here's the answer: the voices tell me to do it. Not only do the voices, but in this instance, it's dead killers who whisper to the heroine (Liv) and tell her what to write. But...she doesn't know that until one particularly nasty spirit decides he doesn't like the way she's writing the story. Cue the scary music RIGHT NOW. Seriously. It's a good thing she has a best friend, a romance writing grandmother, and a hot boyfriend (GAGE) who...

Many authors opine that they have characters in their heads who are begging the writer to tell their stories. Bonatch takes this idea a step further by suggesting if the author doesn’t get the story right, spirits of the dead will harm the writer. Yikes! Liv, the author in the story, writes crime novels. Gage is her ‘watcher’ trying to protect her from malevolent spirits. The two are thrown together (a sweet romance) to manage family curses as well as improper endings to stories. Fun,...

What a fascinating and original concept! In this paranormal romance, horror writer Liv discovers her stories aren't coming solely from her own imagination, but are being whispered to her by the ghosts of the killers. Together with her handsome \"Watcher,\" she must figure out a way to thwart the manipulative and vengeful spirits before they do her real harm. This complex, many-layered plot is perfect if you're looking for something new and different. )
