When I first read the book about his father, I wasn't a big fan. But I'm so happy that I decided to read it anyways before this, because it made understanding this book so much better. I really enjoyed this book and the take on vampires! We start with a chase scene as Alexander is trying to get home. Away from the fighting of vampire hunters, their damn dogs, and his family/coven. The dogs being werewolves. Having being bitten by a werewolf it is poison in his system. A toxin that's spreading and Alex's only chance of surviving is getting home to the coffins hidden below the estate. But he refuses to leave without knowing if his family survived. Especially his twin, Atreyu....

I've seen the story done where the vampires to sleep and gets woken up by his soulmate it's been done a few different ways but this is not a way that I've ever seen it done which I really appreciate how original they really made it.
