Deathless: A Reverse Harem Gothic Paranormal Romance

by Jane Ashwood

About this book

She was burned as a witch. Now she haunts the men who bear their name.

Four hundred years ago, Kenna MacLulaich was betrayed by the two men she loved and left to burn on the moors of Grieves End. With her dying breath, she cursed the Grieves bloodline, and death refused to take her. Bound to the estate where she died, Kenna has spent centuries watching generations rise and fall. She is the whisper in the dark hallways, the face in the mirrors, and the cold breath at the back of a Grieves man’s neck.

When the last heir dies, three descendants arrive to claim the crumbling manor, despite the fact that there’s bad blood between them. Victor, the polished English lawyer who wants to sell the house and bury its past. Arthur, the broody historian determined to uncover every secret in its walls, and William, the largest highlander to grace the moors.

They were supposed to stay one year. They were never supposed to see her.

But Kenna is no passive ghost. She can touch. She can speak. She can want. And the longer the three men remain at Grieves End, the stronger she becomes. Vengeance kept her alive for four centuries. Desire might destroy her. Because loving a Grieves man once cost her everything, and she may not survive it again.

Deathless is a reverse-harem standalone romance novel.

Unusually good

I can say without a doubt that this was the most original RH I've read in some time, if ever. The author's writing style is mostly what makes it so unique, though the setting and the ending are also different. The writing is half stream of consciousness, half memoir, and all gothic mystique. It was unlike anything I've read before, but I enjoyed the uniqueness. I definitely recommend it and I'll be checking out this author to see if she's written anything else. )

A Haunting Romance with Heart

This book told a beautiful story about history, love, healing, and forgiveness, and by the end I honestly just wanted more. The FMC was one of my favorite parts of the story. Her personality was very direct and refreshingly honest. She didn’t hide her feelings or soften her words just to be polite; she said exactly what she meant, and I loved that about her. I also really appreciated how the men in the story treated her. They were incredibly patient and understanding, giving her the space she...

New author to me, and I thought this book was wonderfully written. I think the twist at the end was done tastefully and I appreciated the author's care with it. )
