Death, Unwinding

by Sarah Bailey

About this book

Marlie woke up in the mist of the Scottish Highlands with no heartbeat and no memory of her final moments. Trapped in a spectral existence where she is both invisible and intangible, she expects an eternity of solitude. That is, until she encounters Ciaran, a brooding, solitary man whose presence is the only thing that makes her feel tethered to the world she left behind.

Their connection is electric, dangerous, and undeniably twisted. As Marlie haunts his every step, she realizes that Ciaran is hiding a darkness far deeper than her own demise. Despite his desperate attempts to push her away, she is drawn into his orbit, determined to uncover the secrets he guards—even if the truth threatens to destroy what little remains of her soul.

Fans of unconventional love stories will be captivated by this steamy, supernatural journey that challenges the boundaries between life and death. I loved how invested I was in Marlie's death, curious from the very beginning as to how she died knowing the truth wouldn't be revealed until much later. This is a difficult review to write without giving away spoilers so I'm just going to say that the twists in Death, Unwinding was amazing and fun and heart racing. I love the heck out of this book. It is one of my top reads of the year. It’s HOT. A bit twisted. Shminky. Paranormal. And had a twist I didn’t see coming. Fabulous )

I'm a big fan of Sarah Bailey's books, and this one is no different. Whilst the storyline is quite different to any of Sarah's other work, i still loved it and it ticked a lot of the dark romance boxes for me and still made me feel all the warm fuzzies. There is so much i could say, but it would completely spoil it for everyone. But if filthy talking Scottish men is your thing, you'll love Ciaran 🥵🥵. )

Truly awful book! We chose it for our book club and only myself and another member read it, because we warned the others not to waste their valuable, hard earned wages on buying it! From the first page the tone and writing style should have been clue enough to leave alone. I am an older woman, with plenty of different and eventful life experiences so do not consider myself in any a prude or sheltered in anyway but, the sex scenes (which were prolific, extremely boring and monotonous to read),...
