60 Seconds Between Worlds: A Love Story Beyond Death (60 Seconds Forever Book 2)

by Ann Charles
Forget the sugarplum fairies and silent nights. In the rugged, snow-dusted hills of the Dakota Territory, Christmas Eve is better spent hunting the restless dead. Clementine Johanssen, Deadwood’s most formidable slayer, has no interest in festive cheer. While the rest of the town prepares for peace, she is determined to ride out alone into the freezing wilderness to take down a pack of deadly scallywags.
However, Clementine’s found-family has other plans. They recognize that even a hardened slayer needs a reminder that she does not have to carry the weight of the world on her own shoulders. Determined to save her from her own mule-headed stubbornness, they stage an intervention that feels suspiciously like a supernatural spin on a holiday classic. It is a race against time to pull her back from the edge before the cold of the season—and the ghosts of her past—consume her completely.
This genre-bending paranormal tale is the perfect palate cleanser for readers weary of traditional holiday fluff. It balances sharp, witty dialogue with the deep emotional bonds of an unconventional group of allies. If you are looking for a gritty, ghostly adventure that warms the heart while keeping the stakes dangerously high, this is your next winter obsession.

Are you like me and like things that are a bit unusual? A little off the wall? Well, I've got the perfect Christmas story for you! Catawampus Christmas Carol is not your ordinary holiday read but it was such a fun treat. Reading a book set in the old west of Deadwood and centering around an executioner sounds like the perfect way to spend the days before Christmas, don't you think? It really is a fun, feel-good story that will have you laughing out loud at the character's shenanigan's. I love...

Fantastic story. It was great fun to read and too short. It did delve into areas of each characters life and personality explaining a lot of things about them. Lots of fun . Really enjoyed learning about the people more. Can hardly wait for next book. It does mean I can never die cause I have to see what will be coming. Thanks Ann and Sam )

Such a great read! The writing is amazing, the story is so well told. It made me want to read “A Christmas Carol” again, which I did. I love all of the work by these two authors. Their stories and their characters are the kind of work that stays with you. Thank you for this wonderful present! )

My timing was perfect! I read this directly after finishing book 3, “Long Way from Ordinary”, during Christmas time. However, this is a perfect segue to the next book in the Undertaker series. It really further develops the characters while keeping with the witty theme and banter as Ann and Sam always do. I believe it’s ol’ Hank who’s stolen my heart. )

Thank you for such a nice Christmas story, SL/AC. After this last year, it was very nice to read something happy. To see the kindness of our characters and joy in having Clementine understand friendship, was very heart warming. Thank you again. )
