Blood In The Water (An Act Of Piracy Book 1)

by Tami Veldura

About this book

Kyros Vindex is a treasure hunter with a singular, frustrating goal: capturing the heart of Eric Deumont, a workaholic pirate captain who is as dense as he is deadly. While Kyros navigates the treacherous waters of unrequited love, Eric is fighting a much darker battle. His skin is home to a malevolent, ink-bound spirit that thrives on moonlight and bloodshed, turning his body into a prison for a vengeful entity that refuses to be contained.

This high-seas paranormal romance masterfully blends swashbuckling adventure with bone-chilling supernatural horror. As Eric desperately hunts for the remaining pieces of a legendary puzzle jar to banish his internal tormentor, the ship he commands, the Midnight Sun, becomes a beacon for calamity. The tension between the two men is as volatile as the curse haunting Eric’s chest, creating a fast-paced narrative where every heartbeat could be the last.

If you are craving a gritty, ghost-filled journey across the high seas, this story delivers a perfect storm of danger and desire. It is a taut, imaginative read that proves love is the most dangerous treasure of all. Dive into this haunting tale where the price of survival is paid in blood and moonlight.

Pretty good story!

When you read how this story was made up, you have to admit it pretty damn good! It is short and fast. Has much information to take in, and is developed well. Characters and locations have pretty good discriptivness and backgrounds. I didn't give 5 stars only because it does lack better backstory coverage. That comes with experience. It's worth the read and has characters you will find yourself cheering for. )

Swashbuckling Romance

Review first posted on Nautical Star Books. I received a copy of this book at no charge from the author in exchange for my honest review. In Blood In The Water by Tami Veldura we meet Eric, the cursed pirate captain of the Midnight Sun, and Kyros Vindex, slightly smitten treasure hunter with a thing for cursed pirates. The Midnight Sun is rumored to be cursed but that doesn’t keep Kyros from tracking him down again and again. Eric has a reputation for being a vicious man, slaughtering all those...

Oh boy, what an awesome book!

I volunteered for the ARC of this book and was given a copy by the author through instafreebies for free. I'm really glad that the book comes with a small list of questions to help with \"what should I write for a review?\" Before the questions I want to tell everyone that this story has a slow start but when it kicks, oh boy it kicks. It's fast paced pirate adventure with a dash of UST and a TON of treasure chasing. Onto the answers to the suggested questions: My favourite scene: the running...

Free for Review: InstaFreebie Program This read contained strong, worthy characters as well as a viable historical premise. Piracy on the high seas is a common theme, but this story hailed some supernatural elements too; unwelcome bodily possessions, monsters in jars and some crones too. The descriptive narrative and dialog were well done, giving way to some action packed moments. A short read but thoroughly captivating. )

3.5 stars Kyros Vindex is going to get his hands on Eric Deumont even if he has to capture all the spice ships in the Caribbean to do it. Kyros knows Eric is after some kind of jar, but Kyros is after Eric. He’s going to get his man, whether or not the rumors of Eric being cursed are true. After one encounter the men share, Eric steals the bait Kyros left out for him. When they meet up again later Kyros leaves after their tryst before Eric even wakes up. Eric felt betrayed before he found out...
