Blame it on the Moon: A Haunted House Mystery (Blame it on the Moon Series)

by Lou Pugliese

About this book

This haunted house has ghosts, secrets… and a story that refuses to stay buried.

When widower Richard Craft returns to his family’s historic Virginia home, he’s searching for peace—and maybe the spark to finish his long-delayed novel. Instead, he finds creaking floorboards, ghostly whispers, Civil War relics in the cellar, and a loyal Sheltie named Lincoln who never leaves his side.

But the past in this house runs deep. As unsettling visions and strange events mount, Richard is drawn into an unlikely alliance: a determined paranormal researcher, a retired cop with a knack for digging up the past, and an eccentric pair who run a local occult shop. Along the way, unexpected romance sparks—and moments of humor lighten even the darkest nights.

Together, they uncover a mystery that binds Richard’s family history to restless spirits with unfinished business. What begins as a ghost story becomes something more: a journey through grief, love, friendship, and the courage it takes to face what haunts us.

Begin the journey today — because the past never stays buried for long.

This was a surprise of a story and I really had a hard time putting it down. The characters and plot sucked me in and kept me entertained in a variety of ways. I loved the way the author wrote the book - it felt like I was right there inside of the story itself. Great job! I think my next read with be the prequel to this story! )

I like this author because....

....he tells the story like it is an autobiography. in a way. Interesting, has some historical facets to it and the characters are all like-able. I will be reading his other novel, I am sure. There is some \"sax and violins\" (if you catch my drift) in this novel but it is not filled with it and it does fit the story. A little repetitious but mostly enjoyable and a page-turner. )

Loved it!
