60 Seconds Between Worlds: A Love Story Beyond Death (60 Seconds Forever Book 2)
R.J. Lumen
by Ann Charles
Violet Parker thought she had seen it all in the historic, ghost-ridden town of Deadwood, but she was wrong. When a fresh corpse turns up inside a crumbling, century-old opera house, Violet finds herself center stage in a bizarre supernatural murder mystery. To make matters worse, the local theater scene is currently staging a zombie musical, and the line between the living and the undead is blurring faster than Violet can handle.
This installment of the fan-favorite series perfectly captures the urban-fantasy charm that readers adore. Ann Charles expertly balances high-stakes sleuthing with sharp, witty humor, ensuring that the dark, paranormal atmosphere never feels overwhelming. You will find yourself rooting for Violet as she navigates prickly detectives, restless spirits, and the kind of chaotic chemistry that keeps the pages turning late into the night.
If you are craving a series that blends historical grit with paranormal romance and a dash of the macabre, look no further. Whether you are a longtime fan of the franchise or a newcomer looking for a fresh, creative mystery, this book offers a wild ride through a town where the past never truly stays buried. Prepare for laughs, sizzle, and plenty of trouble.

This is book four in the series and I am so upset that this is the last one for awhile that I will be able to read. Looks like won't have a new one out till 2014. Oh the agony!!! How am I going to survive not reading about Violet's adventure and whether or not everything works out with her and Doc. In book four of the series, we find Violet dealing with the loss of her boss. She was found at the bottom of a mine and Violet knows it wasn't just an accident that somebody had murdered her boss and...

I didn't re-read book 3 before diving into Better of Dead, but the author slowly brought me up to speed. I've read some books where the author reviews previous events right away without any finesse. Not here! It's done properly, without being obvious and throwing off the flow of the book. The paranormal activity is increasing in Deadwood and there are definitely some \"what the...\" moments. This is what will bring be back for the next book - it is definitely getting interesting in that aspect....

The cover of this book looks so dark, but the content is light-hearted, entertaining, and funny. This is probably one of the most unusual and creative books I have read in a while. Normally I don’t like foul language, violence, or explicit sexual content in a book, but I enjoyed this book in spite of containing all of these. Until the very end of the book, there is not any graphic violence, swear words are not overused, and the sexual content is more like wishful thinking rather than real acts....

I'm not going to try to recap the story but just tell you what I liked about it. Everything! The writing is superb. You feel transported to this town and totally engaged, and connected to these characters. Sometimes I feel I'm watching this play out instead of reading it. The characters are so relatable, even with the paranormal elements that are a part of the story and the town. The dialogue is perfect; the humor is priceless & perfect; the romance is perfect...hot, steamy, and realistic. From...

Normally, I do not read books about ghosts, vampires, zombies and other ethereal beings. However, this author, Ann Charles, has managed to walk the fine line of blending the boundaries between the netherworld and ours ever so eloquently and with perfect balance. She manages to use a fine thread that is easily acceptable and craftily interwoven into the story, not interfering or taking away from the beautiful character development or the interesting murder mystery. In this fourth installment of...
