Ashes to Ashes: Experiment in Terror, Book 8

by Karina Halle

About this book

It's been two months since Perry Palomino and Dex Foray's relationship reached a new turning point, two months since Perry started a new life in Seattle, and two months since their Experiment in Terror show took on a new partner, ex-Wine Babe Rebecca Sims, and found a new level of success. But whenever there is light in their lives, the madness still has a way of coming back in.

When the team is sent back to the stormy Oregon coast to investigate a haunted school, Perry wants to use the opportunity to reconnect with her family and reintroduce Dex into their lives. Only Perry's not the only one who's reaching out—her grandmother Pippa has started appearing to her with disturbing warnings and Perry's presence at the school has ignited a chilling new wave of supernatural phenomenon. Once used a century ago as a sanatorium to house children dying of tuberculosis, the school's past residents are slowly coming back to life and with one thing on their mind. They want someone to play with, someone to join them. Forever.

Even when dead, some children get whatever they want.

And they want Perry.

Contains mature themes.

A Captivating Serial Literary Experience!

May 9, 2014

BTW, love the book cover. Some might think that the use of the phrase \"literary experience\" is extreme. However, a rare few books and series are so much more than just a good read. They are \"literary experiences\" that allow you to know, taste, see, feel, witness and breath another place, another time; another world. Ahhh, Fiction! Remaining loyal to any Series is difficult because generally one has to wait a year and often longer for the next release. In the meantime, if you read as much as...

One of my all time favorite series

April 15, 2014

I knew I should have stopped reading as soon as Karina Halle announced that the release of the final book in the series was being pushed back until the end of July. I knew that if I finished it now, I’d be mad at myself because I’d have to wait months to find out what happens and Karina was likely going to end this book in a crazy cliffhanger. I tried waiting. I tried putting this book down and walking away. For a few days, I succeeded and I thought maybe I could make it a few months, but then...

Dex & Perry Forever!

August 20, 2014

I have been with Dex & Perry from the beginning, through their friendship & their ups & downs on Experiment in Terror. I remember how magical it was when they first made love, how broken Perry felt when she lost Dex along with their baby. I could not be happier that they've gotten to this sweet place in their relationship, retaining all the hot chemistry that makes them the perfect ghost hunting couple! I just kept thinking - nothing & no one better ruin this for Perry & Dex!! They travel back...

Karina Halle Does it Again!

December 31, 2013

This is latest book in Karina Halle’s excellent Experiment in Terror series. For some reason, I thought it was the last in the series with the exception of the one she is writing about the main character’s sister, Ada. Evidently I was very wrong! And the people next door probably could hear me yelling NOOOOOOO! at the end of the book! This time around, Perry and Dex are sent with the new producer of their show, Rebecca, to the coast of Oregon. They go to visit and stay at a haunted, former...

Halle does not disappoint!

December 28, 2013

Approximately two months after the events that occurred in Come Alive, the Experiment in Terror series resumes with the eighth full-length novel entitled Ashes to Ashes. Dex Foray and Perry Palomino are joined by their friend and show producer, Rebecca Sims as they drive up the Oregon coast to a town named Gary. Once there, they plan to investigate the old Sea Crest Sanatorium which now operates as the Oceanside Arts Academy, a school for artistically gifted children. The school now occupies...
