And With Madness Comes the Light (Experiment in Terror #6.5)

by Karina Halle

About this book

For fans of the Experiment in Terror series, the wait for closure is finally over. This gripping novella shifts the lens away from Perry Palomino to offer an intimate, raw look at the man behind the camera. Dex Foray has always been a force of nature, but after the heart-wrenching fallout of Lying Season, he finds himself stripped of his usual bravado. Left in the wake of a shattered relationship, Dex must navigate a path toward redemption while battling his own internal demons.

This story bridges the gap between books four and five, documenting the transformation into the hardened Dex 2.0. As a staple of the paranormal romance genre, the narrative masterfully weaves together haunting supernatural encounters with the heavy weight of regret. It is a character study defined by the classic tropes of forbidden longing and the tortured hero, proving that even a man who prides himself on never being a fool can be brought to his knees by love.

Through his cynical yet deeply passionate perspective, you will finally witness the madness he endured while apart from Perry. It is essential reading for anyone captivated by the series, offering a hauntingly beautiful glimpse into the mind of a truly unforgettable protagonist.

There can be only one...Dex Foray

March 1, 2013

The famous tagline, \"There can be only one\", may have been written for the Highlander movies, but I think it perfectly describes Dex Foray. He is truly an original. Who else can shock, entice, and make us laugh the way he does? It's no coincidence he is at the top of nearly every EIT fan's book boyfriends list. Goodness knows he's at the top of mine! It's because with Dex, we know there will never be a dull moment. Good or bad, he always finds ways to surprise us. It's what makes him so...

And With Madness brings Dex's pain, heartbreak, and regret into perfect clarity...

And With Madness Comes the Light (AWMCL) is the perfect book to hold you over until Come Alive, the next book in the Experiment in Terror series, comes out in June. It is the answer to all your Dex Foray withdrawals, which I seem to have continuous bouts of. That's normal, right? Maybe that's because Dex Foray is my all time favorite book boyfriend, and when you read as much as I do, that's saying A LOT! Until I read AWMCL, I really didn't think it was possible to love Dex any more than I...

I love Dex!

So, I have been a huge fan of Karina Halle's EIT series since Darkhouse and I just love this little einsight into Dex's crazy and well pervy mind. I think this short story helps the fans of the series understand Dex more just like the first book she wrote from his POV The Dex Files. IF you are a fan of the series and have read at least the first 5 book, you don't need to inlcude the novellas (although are good too) and want to know more about Dex's transformation for book 6 then read this. It...

Dex like you've never seen him!

I love Dex Foray. That is all. I wish I could just get away with leaving that as my review. Okay, let's see....you've read all the books before this one. You know all about Dex and Perry's tumultuous relationship or lack there of. This is novella, all from Dex's pov and it covers the time between Lying Season and On Demon Wings. It's funny, I had read all of the book a while ago. I was worried I wouldn't remember what was going on. Boy was I wrong. You get immediately sucked back into the world...

We see the light

I dropped everything I was doing and reading to start this one as soon as it became available. And I am so glad I did. I love Dex. He is one of those characters that gets under your skin, that you root for, cry over and fantasize about. After reading The Dex Files, I had a better understanding about what makes this mysterious man tic. After reading And With Madness...I now know what's in his soul. The break-up at the end of Lying Season was brutal. On Perry, on us as readers (I cried for days...
