A Tomb with a View (The Grumpy Ghost Book 3)

by Maggie March

About this book

Anna McGuffin just wanted a quiet life writing Regency romances in her Florida rental. Instead, she is stuck in forced proximity with Richard Lockwood, a brooding Victorian detective who happens to be a ghost. Between their constant witty banter and their spectral dachshund Daisy acting as a referee, Anna’s peaceful existence has officially been traded for paranormal chaos.

The stakes skyrocket when a fresh body turns up on Richard’s grave, signaling the return of Alistair Hawthorne, a vengeful serial killer trapped in an antique locket. As a meddling reality TV crew descends on the town to film the ghostly activity, Anna and Richard must work together to stop a supernatural threat that could destroy everything.

This installment is a masterclass in the grumpy-sunshine trope, blending a gripping urban fantasy mystery with a slow-burn, forbidden romance that feels both impossible and inevitable. The chemistry between the living writer and her deceased roommate crackles with tension, proving that love can transcend even the deepest divide of time. If you crave a cozy mystery with high stakes, historical flair, and an adorable ghost dog, this delightful found-family story is the perfect addition to your bookshelf.

Really fun

I enjoyed this book three of the series, more than the first two. The plot was a bit tighter and more interesting than the previous two. Anna is a more settled character, and her interactions with Richard have found a good rhythm, though there is less snark between them that I miss. Daisy, the dachshund is adorable. I like the side characters, too, especially Laura and Jennifer. Recommended if you like ghostly fun )

Another Outstanding Book in the Series

I have really enjoyed the first 3 books in the series. I’m looking forward to the next one. So entertaining. The characters feel real. Maggie March does an outstanding job providing just enough info about previous books, making each of them a stand alone. But I recommend reading all of the books in the series because they are so enjoyable! )

I really enjoyed this book in the series. The dance scene seemed special between Anna and Richard. I can only think their odd relationship will continue to grow. With the incident at the cemetery, how will the town change. Looking forward to the next book in the series. )
