60 Seconds Between Worlds: A Love Story Beyond Death (60 Seconds Forever Book 2)

by Charlene Hartnady
Lazarus is the most feared vampire in the Program, a massive, weapon-toting powerhouse who rejects all attempts to act human. While his fellow vampires seek connection, Lazarus remains an outcast, his terrifying growl and lethal intensity driving away every human woman who crosses his path. He has resigned himself to a solitary existence, convinced that no woman could ever look past his monstrous exterior to see the man—or the protector—within.
Everything changes when Alexandra, a fiery and fearless woman, arrives at the facility. Unlike the others, she isn't intimidated by his imposing stature or his predatory nature. She has her own agenda for staying in the Program, and she needs Lazarus’s vote to secure her future. What follows is a high-stakes game of cat and mouse where the roles are constantly shifting.
This captivating paranormal romance balances intense chemistry with a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers dynamic. As a standalone installment in the series, it delivers a deeply satisfying arc that proves even the scariest monsters have a soft spot for the ones they love. If you are looking for an addictive blend of suspense, humor, and heart, this is the perfect escape into a world where true love transcends the supernatural.

This is of my favorite series, and the story of Lazarus is just as wonderful as the others. Great storyline with excellently developed characters. In my opinion, one of the most treasured things about the way Hartnady writes is how she brings our beloved characters from previous books back into the newer series! It's so nice to be able to revisit other couples & see what's going on with them. Her books are definitely erotica, but her storylines are always so fascinating & characters so beloved...

This is my favorite thus far in the whole series. Who knew a big, cuddly teddy bear resides in one of the biggest, baddest male vampires? Lazarus has the whole still-waters-run-deep kind of thing going on for him and it works for him. Those muscles come in handy too at times, like breaking down doors and carrying Alex around. I'm not normally a fan of lying heroines, but Alex proves her mettle to the vampires by sticking it to them and telling them where they can put it. LOL! I love the banter...

I was a little worried about this book. The couple of negatives made me think that Alexander had been mean to Lazarus, but that was not the case at all. There was also no cliff hanger at the end of the book. I loved both Alex and Lazarus and their relationship, the good and the bad parts. I loved reading about their growing relationship. There wasn't a single page in this book that did not move it forward and not one of the pages was boring or unnecessary. This is one of the best books in the...
