A Forever Unrooting of Jade and Hickory (The Rooted Realm)

Eva spent forty-seven years as a silent observer on Heaven’s Watcher Shelf, but a single moment of forbidden curiosity sent her plummeting into the dark heart of the Infernum Academy. Far from the nightmare she was trained to fear, this underworld sanctuary is a place of ancient secrets, sentient libraries, and a headmaster who has been awaiting her arrival for five agonizing centuries.
As she navigates this dangerous urban fantasy realm, Eva finds herself entangled with three men who seem to know her better than she knows herself. There is Trystane, who carries a piece of her soul; Kalixo, a strategist bound by grief; and Soran, her professor whose composure is unraveling by the day. Together, they are helping her shed the constraints of her past and discover exactly why the Veil has been calling to her for decades.
This slow-burn paranormal romance masterfully blends academy tropes with a brooding, atmospheric mystery. While the lush, descriptive prose invites readers into a world of celestial secrets and demonic allure, the heart of the story lies in Eva’s transformation from a passive watcher to a woman reclaiming her power. If you crave intense character development and an otherworldly puzzle, Heaven couldn't keep her, but the Underworld is ready to claim its own.

It's honestly a good book. A mystery where I was screaming at it asking for answers and loving the build up. It's just not my writing style I don't need 5-9 different ways one how something is described to paint the picture in my head. And that was majority of the book. The bedrooms, the lunchroom, how old something is, the quiet in the room. I get it's the mfc way of cataloging and that what pushed me to finish this book. It's just not what I want to keep reading version of writing style. ) 2...

Love the lush prose and the way the FMC is portrayed as so tenacious but from a completely different world. Her way of looking at things is fresh and unique - not an \"I need saving\" girl, but still innocent in ways from being from a world that doesn't have physical sensations and stuff. Great story line and mystery too. )

The writing style of this wasn’t for me. It’s all emotionally unconnected. I didn’t care about literally anything. It’s hard to read when you just can’t get into the writing and don’t care about a single character including the main fmc ) One person found this helpful

Honestly this wasn’t what I expected but in the best way. The FMC has such a unique kinda alien world view & I found it fascinating. The writing is smart and a little dense but the density pays off because you are so inside her head: I loved it and can’t wait to read the rest of the series )
