First off… I loved how quick this read was. I almost gave this book 3 stars because of the grammatical errors but overall I thought this was great!!! I fell inlove with the characters and the storyline. As someone who loves spice, I think I needed this. It was so much more plot. And angst and the tension!! But the ending though?! I beta read The Devil's Waltz a billion years ago. Okay, maybe it wasn't that long ago. But I immediately fell in love with the story. There have been some changes made between then and the published edition. I loved trying to figure out who Xander was in the draft I read. But I also really enjoyed getting a more fleshed out version of Xander with his POV in the published book. I'm not sure which version I enjoyed the most. I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed. This started out so promising but the middle dragged and the ending was predictable and disappointing. I feel like I read a whole book just to basically start from zero in the second. It feels like one of those times where they made the ending that way just to have a series and not a single book. The FMC was soooo weak and complacent and basically just useless the whole time and seemingly didn’t care which was annoying. She held up a promise to her dead...

Need the next one please!!! Great read, wonderful character development, phenomenal writing, minimal spice but still intriguing enough without it. So upset i finished it after knowing there was a huge cliffhanger but could not put it down ! )
