Rayven’s life is a graveyard of mistakes, but none cost her more than the grave she dared to rob. Now, she is a pawn in a brutal game of territorial conquest, dragged from the clutches of one demon into the terrifying bowels of the Nine Hells. As she navigates the grotesque layers of the underworld, she realizes that being a captive is only the beginning of her descent into a nightmare of shadows and blood.
Belial, the Lord of Bones, is a monster fueled by obsessive, possessive rage. He does not care for the politics of the lower realms; he only cares that what belongs to him has been stolen. As he carves a path of destruction through the Hells to reclaim his human, the lines between captor and savior blur. He is a king who demands absolute devotion, and he will tear reality apart to ensure his queen finally understands her place by his side.
This dark paranormal romance delivers a visceral, high-stakes enemies-to-lovers experience perfect for readers who crave morally grey anti-heroes and intense monster tropes. With its gothic atmosphere and unapologetically intense power dynamics, Queen of Carrion is a hauntingly beautiful, gore-spattered journey into the heart of darkness.

The story and plotting play out well. Each layer has it's own thoughtful flavor and torment. The references and nods to other imagery were more subtle and not as blatant. Well done. I thoroughly enjoyed the sin and the spice. )

Book 2 in the Death Bound Duet wasn’t nearly as good as the first. I really enjoyed the first but this was just okay. 3.7/5 I had a hard time believing Belial could not get to her sooner, as it didn’t seem to take her very long to get to places. It seemed to drag on and was very repetitive. While I didn’t mind the gore, there was more of it detailed in book 2. I felt the plot was rushed and there was almost too much spice, I found myself skimming over it. With that being said, I enjoyed this...

Beautifully disturbing and gory in all the right places. \"Touch her and die\" in the flesh. I couldn't put it down if I tried. )

This book was alright but far from the excellence of the first. The plot seemed less thought out and way more rushed. I got the vibe that the author(s) bit off more than they could chew. Theres too much going on, too many new characters, too many scene changes and ultimately they had to rush the love interest between the main characters to fit in with the chaos of everything else. The first book was a masterpiece, this one was mediocre. ) One person found this helpful

Really good duet. There are lots of secrets and betrayal in this story overall, and after the reveal of who Belial is, things go from bad to worse when The Lord of Bones' brothers kidnap Rayven. Fleeing with her and each brother has his time with Rayven, and it's not a good time. 😕 As Belial gets closer to Rayven, the brothers take her deeper into Hells nine rings, with Belial being just a moment too late to rescue her with each ring he gains access to. It's Hel, so I definitely expected some...
