Broken magic and a fraying psyche define this gripping installment of the Playing with Demons series. After surviving a harrowing escape, the protagonist finds her healing abilities transforming into a dangerous weapon, leaving her on the brink of total collapse. With hunters closing in and a dark, uncontrollable power surging within her, she faces a desperate choice: succumb to the shadows or turn to the one person she should fear the most.
Enter Killian, a wickedly charismatic incubus and her brother’s best friend. He is the embodiment of forbidden desire, radiating a darkness that matches her own unraveling soul. As they venture back into the treacherous hell realms to uncover the truth, their dynamic shifts from uneasy allies to something far more volatile. Every touch is a risk, and every stolen moment brings them closer to a point of no return.
This steamy paranormal romance delivers a masterclass in tension, blending high-stakes action with an intense alpha-hero dynamic. Sakura Black explores the thin line between salvation and destruction, crafting a world where fangs, tail action, and possessive devotion reign supreme. If you crave a fast-burn story where the stakes are as high as the passion, this captivating journey into the underworld is your next obsession.

I am doing my very first book review. Please take that into account for my lack of experience. I've read the two prior books released in the series, Take Me to Hell and Capturing Sin, which I enjoyed, and it prompted me to be part of the ARC group. You don't have to read the other books in the series, but it does help for the back stories of the other characters. Hellish Witch features Killian, an incubus and Eve who is half demon and half mage. I like that Sakura Black has main characters that...

Eve and Killian are fantastic characters, and their evolving relationship is fun and sexy, despite the frequent miscommunications between them. The dual POVs are a highlight, offering a glimpse into years of mutual pining constrained by family dynamics—until a shared quest to heal Eve’s powers forces them together. ***Spoilers below*** For much of the book, this is a solid five-star read (aside from that one bar scene that gave me the ick). However, the ending stumbles. A last-minute villain...

This is the 3rd installment of Sakura Blacks Playing with Demons series and she doesn't disappoint. While you do nog have to read the first two books in the series as this is a stand alone, I highly recommend doing so as knowing the other characters and world building that occurs in the two previous books enhances this story. I greatly anticipated this book because I love Ms. Black's style and her previous stories. Please read her trigger warnings prior to reading this book, you've been warned....

Eve had always felt out of place even though she is treated as a sister by the Hybrid King it has only gotten worse since her magic turned on her. So she starts on a quest to find out how to fix herself unfortunately her long time crush, Killian, accompanies her along with an unruly hellcat and her sister in law's hellhound. Eve has a lot to learn but most of all she needs to learn that Killian has always loved her in this engaging read. )

I'm going to be honest, Eve made it soooo hard for me to get through this book, I only got through it because I adore Killian. Eve didn't have any character development and evolution until around 86% of the book. She was very naive, very illogical, and continuously ignored advice. She was also very weak willed. I got into this series because of the first book, Take Me To Hell, which I absolutely loved. I liked Capturing Sin as well but after this I'm not sure if I'll continue with the series. )
