A Mate for York (The Program Book 1)

by Charlene Hartnady

About this book

The vampire elite are desperate to secure their legacy, and for York, the stakes have never been higher. Faced with a dwindling population and the inability of vampire females to conceive, the species has launched a high-stakes initiative: The Program. It is a ruthless competition where only the strongest males earn the right to court human women, hoping to finally find love and the promise of a family.

Enter Cassidy, a woman with a dangerous hidden agenda. She has signed on for the trial phase, not to find a soulmate, but to act as an undercover auditor tasked with flushing out vampires plagued by lethal bloodlust. While she expects to endure a few terrifying days of being a donor for the sake of a paycheck, she finds herself drawn to the one man she is forbidden to pursue.

Charlene Hartnady crafts a pulse-pounding paranormal romance that masterfully blends high-tension stakes with steamy, forbidden desire. If you crave intense world-building, dark hell-realm atmospheres, and the electrifying chemistry of fated mates, this series opener is your next obsession. Dive into a world where survival is a game, and the heart is the most dangerous battlefield of all.

A fantastic read from beginning to end!

Clearly, this book was written with the intent to make me lose sleep! Charlene Hartnady has got to be the most diabolical dream weaver ever. The conflict in the story is eternal. What wouldn't you do for money if you were alone and your life sucked? Cassidy, the leading lady in the story, is there and she makes choices that are understandable. I loved the twist about the blood lust. I completely fell in love with York. The whole elimination sequence was real to me. The rich characterizations...

Rated X

The book was good. It had a good premise, and the characters were likable. The ending seemed odd, rushed, kinda corny. It was just off a bit. *This book is rated X. More than 50% of the book is about spice. When spice isn't happening, it is being thought about, talked about, or dreamed about. There is very mild violence. The F word and other strong language are used often. ) One person found this helpful

This book will steal your heart. It got mine.

And I really dislike spoilers, so I will try to keep it short and sweet. York fell in love with Cass, for the person that she is, he loves her curves, her eyes and the cute freckles on her nose. Her scent is sunshine to him. He found his mate. His ONCE in a life time mate!! That is what matters, at least to me. I was thrilled for them. Yes...
