The Manuscript

by D. K. Hamlin

About this book

A selfless monk in plague-ridden medieval Italy labors in secrecy to pen a guide for humanity, little knowing his work will become the world’s most baffling enigma: the Voynich Manuscript. Centuries later, this untranslatable relic rests within the hallowed halls of Yale, hiding a spiritual weight that transcends human understanding. When an ordinary New York artist, Emma Novak, is thrust into the crosshairs of a sinister society desperate to unlock the book’s power, she finds her life spiraling into a dangerous game of shadows and celestial stakes.

This gripping urban fantasy weaves a dark romance through the modern streets of Manhattan, where the line between the divine and the demonic blurs. As Emma navigates a high-stakes love triangle with larger-than-life figures, she is pulled into a hidden academy of ancient secrets. The tension between historical mystery and contemporary peril creates an atmosphere where passion and faith collide with terrifying force.

Perfect for fans of paranormal romance who crave a blend of academic intrigue and supernatural longing, this epic tale explores the very essence of human connection. As titanic forces gather for a final confrontation, Emma must decide if the manuscript is a salvation or a curse, proving that some secrets are meant to remain written in the stars.

Extraordinary Debut Novel!!!!

December 18, 2020

The Manuscript is an extraordinary debut novel, written by the fresh, new writing team of journalist D. K. Hamlin and Concert Pianist Hyperion Knight. It is also a complex work of literary fiction, and one that defies classification. The Manuscript is at once an historical novel of the first order, rich in detail and well-researched, with sparkling prose recreating the the historic era of the Black Death in Europe with vivid imagery. Like COVID-19 today, the Black Death was a lethal pandemic...

I really enjoyed The Manuscript. It was fast paced, and I liked the combination of the story of a young, modern woman with an ancient document and all the cultural and historical references. Fun! ) One person found this helpful

A beautiful and nobly written blending of history, science, supernatural mystery, the arts, and romance. This novel tastefully delivers a tale of intrigue and relatable characters, while at the same time dropping tantalizing real-world facts and philosophies that inspires the reader to do further research. A clever story with just the right balance of humorous wit and skillful imagery, The Manuscript is definitely written in a language you can understand and will enjoy! ) 3 people found this...

\"The Manuscript\" by Danuta Hamlin and Hyperion Knight is Marvelous!

This wonderful book has everything any reader could want from a novel: mystery, romance, historical references, humor, good triumphing over evil, fantasy - and lots of good old-fashioned entertainment - all about an ancient publication no one has been able to read. The characters are well-defined and very believable. I really grew to care about them. It's a terrific and very enjoyable read. I can't wait to see what these first-time authors come up with for their next novel. Kudos! ) 5 people...
