Guardian: Recruit

by Catherine Rull

About this book

When the souls of departed children are recruited as celestial defenders, they take on the ultimate mission: protecting the living from the encroaching darkness of the Fallen. Cai Smith is one such guardian, tasked with watching over the most vulnerable teenagers at a high-stakes mental health facility. Haunted by the mounting death toll under his watch, he makes the radical decision to return to the mortal realm. Disguised as a teacher, he must infiltrate the institution to uncover the sinister force driving the patients toward tragedy.

His investigation takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with Grace Gallagher, a dedicated clinical psychologist. Their initial meeting is marked by friction, but there is an undeniable, magnetic pull between them. Unbeknownst to Grace, Cai recognizes her from a life he lived long before his death. As they are thrust into a perilous battle against malevolent forces, their professional alliance evolves into something far deeper and more dangerous.

This gripping paranormal romance masterfully blends high-stakes action with the tender yearning of a second-chance at love. As Cai and Grace fight to save their patients, they must confront the impossible question of whether their connection can defy the boundary between the living and the dead.

Fun read about angels and fallen angels in a London psych ward! )

I had read 'The Fat Chicks' Club', another book written by the same author. Although this book is a very different kind of story it is just as well written with intriguing characters and plot twists. The author has a fantastic imagination. If you like the fantasy genre I'd advise you to go out and buy this book. )
