Gods & Monsters: Book One

by Janie Marie

About this book

Humanity is on the brink of total annihilation as a catastrophic plague ravages the globe. When science and military might fail, the world is forced to rely on the very creatures they once dismissed as folklore. Enter Jane, a woman struggling with a crumbling marriage and the weight of a tragic past, who suddenly finds herself pulled into a hidden reality where monsters are real and legends walk among us.

Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets David, an immortal knight whose protection offers her a glimpse of true love. But their meeting is no accident. Jane discovers she is the focal point of a cosmic power struggle, haunted by a forgotten history with the Angel of Death. As she uncovers her true destiny, she realizes she is the key to purging the world of darkness, even as nightmares emerge from the shadows to claim her soul.

This gritty, raw paranormal romance defies expectations by weaving high-stakes action with a deeply internal battle. It is a haunting exploration of trauma, redemption, and identity. If you are searching for a unique, soul-stirring journey where the line between savior and beast blurs, this epic tale will leave you breathless.

Speechless. A must read.

If you want a story that connects to your mind and soul this is it. It is raw dirty and completely insane. I rarely experience awesomeness like this. How to make sense of my experience with this story. Book 1 First off, I put off reading this series after reading Jane’s Team which is a alternate world of this series( which is an awesome story that honestly 2 books in now on this series I’m happy and confused about reading it first. Can’t explain you have to experience it yourself. Also decide...

pretty good

TW in this book for SA, DV, and shame spirals. The SA and DV aren’t described too vividly and I was not triggered by them personally but just be aware! The shame spirals are more consistent and intense imo. Got distracted by sentences with the wrong words or missing words a couple times. Like “endemic” instead of “pandemic”. Or just a sentence that doesn’t quite make sense because of a missing word. Overall I enjoyed this book. Will start the next. The quantity of characters is a little...

Hands down, one of the best books written

This is an amazing book, and I would definitely read it again and recommend to others. I love the uniqueness of this book. These weren't your normal vampires that I honestly get tired of reading about. They were unique, and strong, and they had weaknesses. Janie Marie was realistic when she wrote about her monsters. Death was something else entirely. He wasn't some sappy lover like other people might portray him when he's with Jane. He's still the monster that he wants to be viewed as. I love...

Depressed Heroin

I really had trouble liking the main character. I understand she has a lot of trauma but I could not stand the self pity and tears for 80% of the book. The side characters were fun and got me through. But muscles and whipped men can only do so much. The interplay of different dieties and paranormal creatures was cool though. I'm sure if you relate to some of her experiences you would enjoy it more than I did. )

Reading with 1 eye closed.

Saw this book on TikTok and it was a very different read than I normally would entertain. I am not a big fan per say of a dystopian future setting in a book because in all honesty, when I read, I want to be transferred to another world, preferably one that is not about to end and doesn’t showcase the worst in human society. However, for this book I was willing to give it a read without even reading the synopsis just because of the artwork and how it mentioned that there were different legends...
