Don't Date Demons

by Sophie Stern

About this book

Amy lives by one golden rule: trust no one and never get attached. As a high-tech thief operating in a gritty world ruled by a ruthless Vampire King, she has spent her life lurking in the shadows and stealing from those who can afford to lose it. She and her partner, Daisy, are ready for one final, career-defining heist before they retire for good. But when their mission goes sideways, Amy finds herself acting on an unexpected impulse to intervene in a brutal attack.

Saving the victim turns out to be a massive mistake, or perhaps a life-altering complication. The man she rescues is not human; he is a dangerously alluring demon. Suddenly, Amy is thrust into a chaotic supernatural underworld where the lines between enemies and allies blur. The chemistry between the street-smart thief and the powerful demon is immediate, electric, and forbidden, threatening to unravel every boundary she has spent years building.

If you are looking for a fast-paced paranormal romance packed with high-stakes tension and sizzling chemistry, this story delivers. It is a thrilling blend of heist-movie adrenaline and angelic-meets-demonic intrigue, perfect for readers who love a prickly heroine and a hero who is as lethal as he is tempting.

Our hero is trying to complete one last job before she can walk away from this life and start over, but things get complicated real fast. That's what happens when you grow a conscience. This is a paranormal romance with angels, demons and vampires. The story is well written and easy to read with well developed characters that bring the story to life. The setting is well detailed and rather interesting to explore, if also rather dark. The plot is on the complicated side with several twists and...

Three and a half stars

I like the concept of the story, but there were some parts that were just too off. Who stops on a mission to have sex in an alleyway? Amy is a thief and Daisy is her accomplice who stays behind for surveillance on the scene. Amy has just completed the “big one” when she sees someone being assaulted by vampires. It’s a stretch that she would stop to help but she’s just that kind of person. It turns out Harrison is an earthborn demon so he has no real powers. She is sweet and caring, he is smart....

The chemistry between the main characters is out of this freaking world! I felt that the author had the ability to convey some depth to the personalities of the characters bringing life and likability to every person. The writing draws you in and keeps you interested until the end. I received a copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily. )
