This book was a bit longer than the previous ones, but not in a bad way. The author uses the time well to cover the characters, and she still does her iconic strong females and imperfect, feral men that I adore her work for. Lyall is a bit different than the others and has some kind of runt energy compared to his brothers. He is the youngest, however, and the troubled kid. He sure is sweet underneath it, though. Eleni is pretty different to the other women as she is a badass in her own right...

As ALWAYS , I try to pull out finishing this book as long as possible. I get 1\\2 way through, then start over again. Did this a few times , be cause this book is SOOO GOOOD !!!!!! I haven’t come across a bad Regine Abel book yet. They just get better and better. I absolutely loved how the other books fit in with this one. Read them all, best if in order. I love the way Regine Abel develops and elicits feels, whether human, snake man, or doppleganger. The plot is exciting and engaging. Her writing is always solid. I loved this book. So much action and monsters. Im glad Lyall got his happily ever after. Eleni was definitely meant for him. I barely rate any books but for Regine I will always try. So here are 5 stars just because you always write amazing non boring stories. And this one was another one that definitely kept me on the edge, eating my nails. So good. I definitely recommend this book and the previous books of this series. )
